IIFL check the Gold by taking an impression. I have seen on my 3 Gold chains, there is an mark.
On asking, IIFL team said, we test gold on Stone (Patthar) and put some Acid on stone and then apply Impression of Gold item to verify. This is the most worst method to check. I have seen marks on my gold items.
