Hi Matt. I was using Welsh steam coal. My club provide this and anthracite. I often use a mixture. This loco has now been exchanged for a Polly 5, which I spent last year renovating. Unfortunately, due to a recurring back injury, I am giving up with the larger engines and have put the Polly 5 up for sale. Keith

Hi Billy. Hope to be going to as many as possible. Just been making a trolley to get the loco from the workshop to the car. Now that it's finished it's just too much to carry. Will take it to the club on Thursday for the final steam test.

    Hi Dave,
The plates, including the name 'AMY', all came from Polly. If you give Jayne a call she can let you know prices etc. I also got the casting for the headlight from them. I have cut down an LED tourch and fitted it in the casting. I also used the switch from the same tourch and a coin cell battery. Looks good when running at night.

Hi Dave any information you have on how you converted the headlight to work with an led torch I would greatly appreciate

@@johnbellew2826 Hi John. Keith here. I purchased an led torch from the £shop that was just oversized for the casting. This was turned down to be a snug fit in the casting. I drilled a suitable hole in the back of the casting to take the button of the switch removed from the torch. The switch was then fitted inside. I inserted a button battery and checked the distance between it and the front of the casting. The torch was then cut to the correct length and a retaining screw fitted.

Hi Graham. I used automotive paint. The finish was fair, but this is not the time of year to be doing it. Lots of problems. The heat has caused some problems. Think I could have used more hardener in the mix.

Hi guys. Well it's all done. Passed the steam test with flying colours. Had a good run as well. Makes steam like nobodies business and has a great beat. Just got to learn how to get a constant pressure from her.

It's just the same in the UK. If it's not on their smart phone they don't want to know.
