- Clan loyalty is a controversial topic within the Vanguard community so I would like to tear it apart today. Let me know your opinion about it. Think about it first before you comment tho before I make fun of you.

I was talking to my brother about wishing clans had a bit more representation in Standard. I personally had loyalty to Gold Paladins and Gear Chronicle when I played the original game. That even carried over to V-Standard when we got that, I built Duke and Chronotiger. I never go into an event thinking that they are going to win or even SHOULD win, I just like to have fun with the clans I enjoy. (I'm definitely not an elitist about what should be played in what clans)
The thing I do kinda wish I could have is more diverse clan representation in Overdress Standard. I want Effect Triggers to get new prints (same effects as the regular effect triggers, but new unit/art), so maybe I can take out the Pale Moon-style effect draw for Dark States and put in a new effect draw that matches the rest of the aesthetic of my deck. Maybe I'd be able to take out the Granblue-like Front in my Stoicheia deck for an effect front that matches, right? I just want stuff to match my deck and not feel shoe-horned into it.
I'm loyal to Bermuda triangle because I think they have best fashion taste and they're fashion clothing are different from the rest of the units
Fashion-wise, I think BT is the most conceivable cuz I can see ppl wearing it irl. Other clan units are more cosplay.

somewhat disagreee. Everybody believes the meta is set in stone, but I tell you there are some rogues that people didnt even dream of existing "cuz the format is settled". If you play a clan for a long time and have a better understanding of the card pool and knowledge of the meta and matchups (knowledge og the game) can make you craft theories that can surprise players. Now not every clan can do this but I personally felt it this year. I play genesis since Angelica V came out anbd played fenrir in G. I got Fenrir V when it came out for cheap cuz it was a "premium card". My boy got clowned on by everything and everyone.Veratrum came out and I started thinking. With the help of some videos for brainstorming I crafted a deck that got me X-1 and on the champion team at BSF Lisbon in it a meta deck (nightrose) and another clowned on deck (Amon). When it got analysed by WCC Kai he said "this guy put everything he liked in the deck and prayed that it worked". Only later the Commander Jaime video about my deck who asked me a lot of questions (and actually knows how the deck works) mentioned the ideas behind the toolboxing.
Not calling myself elitist but I wouldnt say you always have to follow influencers and youtubers (who in my opinion have a bigger impact on public opinion of strength of some things and in turn it affects popularity of said things) especially in V format (because most guys look only at premium and theres a lot of eyes on overdress).
Bottom line competitive players have clan loyalty and you can bet that they will find their combos in their own clans first and take it to tourneys. But I agree with you, gatekeeping is terrible especially cuz getting your build famous is the best form of flattery (like some dude topped with fenrir in a bsf with my own list in asia, dont remember the country :) )

@@vgpunkaiden I just don’t like losing unlike mega players , you’re not a special snowflake for playing a clan no one cares for , my clan is the most supported in the game and is always broken haha :D (obviously joking)

I enjoy playing with decks I enjoy, but I like to practice and come up with ideas or push something to the best possible peak. Deck building and theory crafting are fun past times for me.
