England really went for it this year
Well it's not just a new year but a new decade. Also, we will never live to see 2121 therefore 2020 is the only consecutive number year that we lived to witness

the smoke cloud from all the fireworks at the london eye blocked the view but you could still see all the lights and colours through the smoke so it was ok

I’m in the US and I was surprised at how weak our fireworks shows were compared to other major countries/cities! Embarrassing! I thought London and Paris were magnificent and enhanced by music! ❤️
Not embarrassing. It's mostly due to safety concerns as 1 million+ people gather in Times Square for the balldrop.

You can see which ones put effort into it xD
Drastic One of the low effort ones like Hong kong was low effort because the government cancelled their firework and celebration plans in order to deal with the city's protests (it was still going on during new years). Fortunately, private owned companies were still able to put up a show despite it being a lot worse than the one which HK gov itself can do.
Drastic Some were cut to look worse. For germany they only showed like one small firework even though the celebration and the mass of people there is absolutely enormous

Everything in the u.s always has an advert or some sort of sponsor that's the reality we live in now corporates run the country. Even during the live new year's coverage all we get ads I found that quite tacky in New York for the New year's and lame fireworks shows compared to other countries what a joke were we.
