I felt bad for him at the time, but as you mentioned, he's getting his due! Might be far-fetched, but it would be awesome to see him win a chip with the Bulls.
I'm not ready to call him a full fledged superstar yet, but he is playing at a superstar level right now in this regular season. However, a true superstar maintains or elevates his level of play in the playoffs, something DeMar has never really done, so I have to wait till the playoffs to really validate his superstardom or not.

As a Toronto fan when demar got traded I deadass nearly burst into tears. The only guy who ever wanted to stay here, gone that quickly. We may have gotten a championship out of it but I will never forget the guilt I have that DeMar didn’t get a ring. I hope he comes back and I hope he still loves the city and I hope he still loves most of the staff.

I remember the Boozer situation. He truly wanted to come back but Cleveland lowballed the hell out of him during the negotiations. The Cavs front office felt Ilgauskas was more important to the team than Boozer so he took Utah's offer instead.

How could you leave out Deandre Jordan and the Mavs? This was so bad they changed the moratorium from 10 days to 8 days before FAs can sign with a team. You know it's really bad when the league changes a rule because of an incident. Though I do believe Cuban deserves that crap happen to him for how he treated the Mavs' GOAT center Tyson Chandler. And Boozer or not, it was Delonte who drove James out of Cleveland.

He verbally committed to signing with them so the Mavs never bothered to talk to other notable centers thinking they got who they wanted. A few days later just before the moratorium was lifted he decided he was going to stay with the Clips. Now the Mavs were screwed because everyone else have already signed with other teams including the best center the franchise has ever had in Tyson Chandler.

But this also ruined the Mavs plans. Since they couldn't attempt to sign any other players while they waited for him.

That Carlos Boozer deal was rough for my Cavs. In 2005, I actually got tickets for Cavs/Jazz when he returned to Cleveland just to boo him, but he was injured and didn’t travel with the team to Ohio. However, I think he returned to the Jazz for the next game after Cleveland. 🙄
