I searched for this film after listening to Christopher Seufert's album "Cape Cod Soundscapes, Vol. 11: Dune Shack Life- Sounds of the Cape Cod National Seashore". You might call it the soundtrack, if he had used those sounds in the film. Since I stumbled upon them on Spotify, over the last month or so I've been listening to all of Seufert's Cape Cod Soundscapes in order, while working and sleeping- they are great both for focus and for sleep, and my cat Kali the Destroyer loves them too. We can really recommend them. Nature sounds are surely one of the most useful things about audio as a medium and Seufert has created an immersive collection that sets itself apart with his focus on various aspects and areas of the wonderful world of the Massachusetts cape, where many an adventure seems likely to be had.
Wow, such a great review, thank you so much! You get it! I have a whole new collection on the cusp of release. The idea is that the collection of sounds is an entity in and of itself and will create a whole world for people to explore..
@@ChristopherSeufert17 You’re really welcome. We’ve been greatly enjoying the sound world you’ve assembled and have today reached the 17th and final volume so far. For me Dune Shack Life stood out and became my favorite due to the variety of places and conditions you assembled that gave a sense of being there at different times of day and weather. You could perhaps have made several volumes based on this alone, but having all those spaces on one volume has merits of its own. I look forward to your new collection. It’s an honor, Christopher.
The best part of Old Cape Cod. The rest is gone. After 35 years we did return from bridge to Ptown. Only the most remote parts look the same. The traffic from Boston and onto the Cape was constant. I am saying glad this bit is preserved forever. The sand, the sea, and the sky. You just cant beat it.
Thank you so much. This is incredibly beautiful. One senses the beauty, but also the solitude and the relentless elements. It's too easy to romanticize living on the shores, but I think few moderns could tolerate the lack of electric, hand-pumping water, procuring of fuel sources, and the sand that continually buffs away at anything in its path. Thank you for sharing🦞🐚✌🏻
Uprated, shared. Now long-term expat in France, so glad I was able to get my French spouse to stay here with me some years ago. North Truro. Just about the only place I felt okay, ever, in the USA. Brittany, France is quite like this in parts and THAT made me so homesick for this! I took him to the drive in movie in Wellfleet! He was ASTONISHED. Americana!! Bless.
We just did a Dune tour out of Arts in Ptown this past saturday. Was SOOOO Awesome! Those shacks look so peaceful to stay in! Love this video and the guitar music. Very peaceful and beautiful.
Where can I find info about renting a dune shack without an artist residency? It's been a dream of mine ever since reading "The Outermost House", but I've found very little information on rental availability. Are any dune shacks available to rent?

Missing it. Thank you so much for sharing this.

It changes from year to year. This season is already decided, however do a Google search next January and it should be the most up to date...
👏🏼🇧🇷
Stunning and yet so stark! I have not yet made it there but will "before I close my eyes" as a German woman once put it to me. -"tarotworldtour"
