It’s the fact they can cook your food, clean your house, take care of your kids better than you can but can’t use your bathroom. I will never understand it.
@Coppercoloredlibra It's not about logic, we know that. Sense or cents, neither have anything to do with that attitude.
And it was ok for those white ladies' babies to nurse at the breast of black women, literally nourished by their milk, yet they were too filthy to be allowed to use the bathroom inside the house 😮💨
You can’t get sense out of senselessness!
It’s 2024 you should understand by now
@@Username7110blu nobody does, you can't make it make sense! They didn't even understand it 😂
Bryce Dallas Howard did a fantastic job creating a character we all love to hate. Hilly was the nastiest character I've ever seen, save that rotten Lanister kid and his equally monstrous mother.
i love how you speak about joffrey and cersei like you knew them personally because i also do that with characters from movies and shows i like 😭😭

I love the dynamic between minny and aibileen, especially in this scene. The way they carry on laughing and talking a little smack is something I'm used to seeing. It feels warm and familiar. ❤

Me and the black women I work with lol
This my exact thought, it’s so genuine in real life, though the situation would be Minny ke ke ke 😂 then snitching on Abileen
That a black people thing
By my God, imagine being well-off, privileged, all around comfortable... And still spending your time on dumb things like marking toilet paper. That's a busy work for us, poor fools. The woman has all the good things in life and still wastes it all away on being miserable. Can't buy sanity I guess.
You said ittt
It's cuz deep down money and things aren't what any of us need
Not sure how many times it needs to be said and demonstrated that money does not buy happiness.
Well She is Racist
What is she marking the toilet papers for?
I'm brazilian and my grandmother grew up very poor. She used to work for a woman who behaved EXACTLY like that. The woman's kids loved my grandma but the mother would restrict everything, from food to toilet paper. My granny is 87 and she still remembers everything that woman put her through and I'm so mad for her and for everyone who's had to live like that.
If the scar isn’t faded for 87 years … I wonder how deep it was
My grandma always worked as a maid. I remember this one time she was fired from a job she spent 15 years at because she took home some leftover food that otherwise would go to the bin the next day. Mind you that she raised the family’s kid and he liked her better than his own mother.
@@beautyqueen1746 It's cultural for us to live with our parents until we get married and also to bring the elders to live with the family if they need care. So at this point in life my grandma lives with us and she never eats unless we eat first, she says it's because the owners of the house have to be served first. She also doesn't use plates or glass cups because they're too noisy and she thinks we'll be angry if she makes too much noise. She uses plastic plates or bowls and plastic cups too... She also wakes up very early and tries to clean the house, trying to make herself "useful". No matter how much we try to make her feel comfortable, the emotional scars are just too deep.
@@rafaelhgn I can't understand how people can be so cruel... So sorry for your granny.
God is not finished with her ❤

And Minnies little "oh"
There was a black lady who lived up the holler from my grandmother. She worked as a maid. The rich white women in town fought over her. Her first name was Helen but they all called her Mrs. Brown. She told them only her friends called her Helen and they weren't her friends. The first time one would disrespect her, she'd quit, and a bidding war would begin. They'd give her anything she wanted. Her food was restaurant quality and any house she worked was clean as a pin. I loved her. She worked for awhile at one of my friend's house. She taught me how to make cornbread! She also told me to never bake a cake or make cornbread if it was "that time of the month." She said the cakes would fall and the cornbread just wouldn't turn out right.
The holler, how cute
This is a story😂❤

@@terseandtiny1746Really, did you watch this movie? The way they are treated. Being looked down on and all the stuff they were going through. If we put you in their positions you would probably stfu and realize this was no joke. There’s a reason they are maids and not part of the high class women in this movie.
I love how she out smarted her and brought her own paper,😊
That is what I admire most about black people that even through all the adversity they still stay strong and persevere and as Martin Luther King said We Shall Overcome😊😊😊😊 have a blessed day
They kill each other in droves, abort their children in droves, and live in a constant state of victimhood these days. That is the modern black.

@@kat35lulu88yes, that be a good time 😂.
I never understood racism, I seriously never understood judging someone based off the color of their skin.. I judge based off of whether you're a good a person or not.. I just don't get it! I love all people, as long as they are good people.. I will never judge based off of your race, religion, or whatever else ridiculous thing other people come up with.. I LOVE EVERYONE. I don't care what race you are, or where you come from, as long as you're a good person over all... ya know?
I have never heard more true words than this ❤
That’s literally the truth….but people love to make others feel inferior….its not natural it’s taught…..and the people who teach it are decrepit, backwards thinking, gun slingers who use ignorance as a weapon to get what they want. It’s infuriating
People hate things they don’t understand. Seeing someone who doesn’t look like you, some people thinks different is wrong inherently. Which is obviously completely false. Which is why education is so important. We are literally all essentially identical inside. It is just skin deep. It is melanin. No one is better than ANYONE else. We are all just people.
I think it’s a generational and historical thing. Basically when the African slave trade started slavery was based on who was conquered. Europe conquered Africa so all (not literally all I’m generalizing here) the people who didn’t die fighting or helped the Europeans were turned into slaves. They were looked at as subhuman because their culture was primitive compared to Europe’s culture. In America slaves outnumbered free people and if you look at Spartin history they were also outnumbered by the slaves. What they did was brutalize slaves to the point where they wouldn’t try to revolt out of fear of death. If their slaves revolted Sparta would have fallen long before Thermopylae. I think early Americans were doing the same thing. Brutalizing slaves so they wouldn’t kill them all. And modern racism is the natural result of putting a group of people down for so long you forgot why you hated them. And now we hate purely for the sake of hate itself. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
In the US, racism is used to help people feel more....'European/Elite'. Europe is held in high regard so many feel they are closer to being 'pure' by discriminating. Which is funny because I don't think Europeans see white Americans as anything special.
I love Minny and Aibileen! Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis were the stars that shone! I love them both!
Hilly's mother is hilarious because she says what is on her mind, and she likes putting her daughter in her place.

This is so transcendent. Every working person knows that co worker that’s legit cool AF and understands that their boss is crazy AF.
Love love this movie. This reminds me so much of the Hispanic women taking care of families. We had several, lol, most were pregnant n didn't return. However, that was the plan. We helped eachother, they took care of us for several months & they saved $ for their new family. I did the same as a Single Mom, it so helped & our live-in House Keeper was such a true Blessing. It was a win-win. Blessings to all these women whom did so much for so many families & Bless those that knew how to treat them right. Peace be with us all 🙏. "Isa"

For those wondering the movie is called The Help
When I was a young girl in Louisiana my Mom worked as a maid for this family for years before we moved to California and she took care of their children and the family loved her and we used to play with their daughter Emily, I'll never forget her she was so sweet and her parents treated my Mom with respect and love they cried when she said we were moving to California we kept in touch for a while and later lost contact, but some how they found out my parents has passed a month apart and sent us a big check to help us with expenses but we told them that we had everything covered and they said well keep it and split between the 6 of you, they loved my Mom and us.
I could watch these two beauties perform on repeat for the rest of my life and die completely happy. ❤ 💐
I didn’t even realize she was literally in the bathroom drawing lines on the toilet paper! 😂💀💀
I love this two..i love their laughs😂😂😂
I always laugh at the fact that she thinks she is superior to those ladies but they are the ones who make her look good.
It's something to those old sayings like"If a Pregnant Woman steps across a row of fruits or vegetables planted in a garden, they will die" My Pregnant Sister did just that and the Vegetables died where she stepped across...I know it doesn't make any sense..Coincidence or Facts🤷♀️
I had a boss in the 90's who marked the toilet paper and tried to charge a" usage fee".

I never understood how the closer people come, the further they can drift apart. I saw a documentary about Namibia and a black man in the train said to the reporter "white people don't sit next to us". The reporter was shocked and asked "am I the first white person that sits with you?" And the man replied "no, not the white Europeans, the white Namibians, these are the ones that don't sit with us. We cannot get use to it". I can't forget this....
Same here... How can you have a person, no matter the colour, taking care of you, your house, your mother, your children and hate them? Treat them like that? How on earth don't you become best friends with them???
