I keep on seeing this type of comment on Jadakiss never spitting a whack verse and I've come to find out that I've slept on him hard for almost 20 years. Ive always felt that his voice and style is one of the more unique, unmistakable, gritty and yet chill sounding in hip hop, but I never really listened to him enough to hear what he could do with it until his Top 5 Dead or Alive album.
I never gave the LOX a chance when they came out because they were linked with Bad Boy in the beginning and I probably considered them too Comercial and MTV at the time they first dropped. I slept on each member of The Lox until I heard them all individually in the 2010-2020 decade. I saw Sheek Louch rock a whole set alongside Ghostface Killah in Honolulu around 2015 and felt dumb for sleeping on him. Heard some dope Styles P stuff over the years and was listening to his collab album with Berner alot. Heard the top 5 Dead or Alive album from Jadakiss a few years back and was tripping on how hard Jadakiss raps without even trying. I began to realize that Jadakiss is one of the most underated rappers of that 90's Era of Hip Hop that I'm still listening to in 2020. After hearing the new LOX album and really listening to Jadakiss I rate him highly.
