This used to happen a lot, trains randomly taken out of service, no explanation, people piled onto platforms. Ridiculous customer service.

The quality of Toronto's public transit services are far behind that of Seoul's or Tokyo's, and yet, trips cost more than subway or bus rides in Seoul for some reason. I've been getting the feeling that Canada has been slowly but continuously becoming a developing country since the early 2000's.

One of the reasons why our public transit cost us so high is because of labor costs, when the conductors and it's unions demand 30$ + an hour with maximum benefits with over 6 % raises each 2 to 3 years who do you think pays the bills?

It wasn't as bad in early 1990s, I went to school at Ryerson for 4 yrs and it worked with those old trains they had for Line 1. Difference was when you came up from downtown back then the trains got mostly emptied once they get to Eglinton station.

maybe because the electrification segment is from King to Eginton so if they cut electricity, it can't be anywhere in that zone as it is one continuous current

I wonder why there are so many incidents these days, such as trespass, medical issue etc, would cause TTC to shutdown the entire or a big section of the operation. Either there are just so much more irresponsible people there causing the problem, or TTC is over reacting? TTC seems to have a culture these day as it is easier to just shutdown the subway than figures out a way to deal with trespass but meantime keep the system running.

When the Harris government first cut TTC funding in 1997, that was the beginning of the decline of the TTC. When the Harris government leased out the 407 for 99 years for only $3.1 billion, that meant Toronto became one of the worst traffic congested cities in North America. The 407 is worth more than $30 billion today. I remember in 1992 when transit heads from foreign countries visited Toronto to see how a successful transit system was run. Safe, on-time, clean, and affordable.

The reason why King to Eglinton was closed is because they are stations where the train can cross over to the other side of the tracks. There isn't any cross overs in that whole stretch.

Typical TTC bs. I worked downtown (using Line 1 from Finch) between 2013 to 2019, it seems these bs happens to me once a week and mostly on the return trips from downtown. Even in morning we get dropped off once at Rosedale because ttc took the fully packed train out of service. Next train behind is beyond packed as expected. If they would get us to Bloor station many can just walk. Biggest problem with TTC especially Line 1 is there is no way to go around, if your side of Line 1 is closed you are screwed unless you want to bus to the other side. Shuttle buses are jokes.

TTC is so UNREILIABLE I was thinking of getting a folding bicycle that I can take with me on alĺ TTC vehicles and when these BS delays occur just use my little bicycle . Speaking of delays ,everyday I use the trains and ALWAYS ,ALWAYS a delay on subways at 2:00pm like clock work I am convinced its done on purpose . TTC special constables are not allowed to arrest or even engage unruly passengers so what good are they and I see more fare inspectors than security . Too many TTC employees getting paid too much for doing NOTHING . Everytime they have a "tresspasser on tracks they shut down Bloor Danforth line from Woodbine to St.George
