I think the way the monsters stalk and attack in this game is sooooo good, instead of just approaching with brute force like most games, they stealth and hunt, feels very realistic and creeeeepy
An hour in and the random snarls and spooks in the darkness have me absolutely terrified. Hahaha. I don't think I could ever handle playing this on my own.
I enjoyed the unsettling ambiance of the monsters stalking but also the thrill of trying to make sure your healthy/sane given your environment you are stuck in. Definitely a edge of the seat game.
Jump scare list for anyone else like me out there... ❤️ 41:31 - (creepy) not really a jump scare but it's the first time you hear the monster shriek. You hear them a LOT but I'll only list the scary moments from now on, so please don't stress when you hear the shrieks/growls/noises otherwise or if Gab shoots at the monsters later 1:19:03 - (jump scare) something is thrown at you out of nowhere, with growls and creepy noises for another 15 seconds 1:28:19 - (very creepy) super close growl, then Gab shoots a monster inside the house and kills it (they move very slowly and aren't very scary) 1:42:11 - (jump scare) shadow monster jump attack 1:42:39 - (very creepy) growling sounds then you're impaled 1:42:58 - (jump scare) shadow monster jump attack 2:01:57 - (not too scary) attacked just as you fast travel, you only hear it Hope this helps, enjoy the video! Also just FYI, there are 2 types of monsters seen: slow-moving human/zombie lumberjack-looking things, and a shadowy/cloaky FAST-moving, flying thing like a dementor after having too many red bulls?
I hadn't seen The Thing until a month ago, recommended by a friend who is a connoisseur of horror movies. It's his favorite movie of all time. This gives very much those vibes. "I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter tied to the goddamn couch!"
@@tahasoomro7465 for me it is not starting but unwinding. No need to watch it all in one go. But it's fun and Gab is a great person to watch. Cup of coffee, sandwich and off you go 😂😂👌
16:08 my past as a kid that was raised catholic and went to art school finally makes itself useful lol the "pidgeon" is supposed to be a dove, which simbolizes the holy spirit and the scene itself depicts a baptism (the concentrated pidgeon beam is water)
Hey Gab! The art on 16:07 is a depiction of John The Baptist pouring water on Jesus head to baptize him and I guess the beam of light is a representation of the holy event taking place as the pigeon (Edited: Dove! Sorry 🤣) is god itself in the form of the Holy Spirit. Great vid as always
This is the kind of game I love watching you play gab. It has a deeper story and lore to it just like In sound mind game, when I try to think about it I remember alot of good details to it and Its so atmospheric! Just like this one. Yeah fr the devs NAILED it with the sense of tension. I mean just from watching my fight or flight response was kicking in real damn hard. Concentrated Pigeon Beam sounds like an Elden Ring spell lmao. Who knows maybe FromSoft will add it in the next patch🤣🤣
Those noises were spoOoOoOoOoky. You're so brave 😂 The way they do crafting and resources definitely is a great dynamic to help you stay focused and succeed. So curious about the whole story...🤔
I'm 15 mins into the video and I'm lowkey dying inside because she left the doors open 😂😭 THE MONSTERS THO, GAB PLS. I would never be able to sleep like that lol.
When she charges at the warehouse around an hour in though, she accidentally left it charging and was able to walk around just fine and didn’t need to charge…of at least not until she tried to charge again and was already full.
Very creepy with the note about the individual losing their eye. Always unsettling to imagine some entity or virus transforming people into monsters, much like The Thing. I especially liked the design of, as Gab called them, "wraiths." The fast movement and red eyes really do give the feeling of an angry specter or demon.
It is always a pleasure to watch your gameplay vids here on YT when they are edited because of the little animations you put in the intro or between somwhere in the video. Thank you for the new upload Gab and good work. Thumbs up from me again👍👍👍👍
Oh my gosh I enjoyed this so much. I never play this kind of survival game because I get intimidated having to manage all the systems but you made it look doable, and the story and setting was so intriguing!! So happy that you might do more, I will be watching for it 👀✨ Thanks Gab!! 😊
Having a really hard, busy time now that I’ve started art school but I’ve started incorporating breaks throughout my day regularly now. My go-to is always to watch the new upload from you! It’s always the calm vibe I need to chill out. :))
I really love the crafting in this. It's not breaking any new ground but it's a nice balance of simple but not insultingly simple, if that makes sense. It really scratches that certain itch for me.
I caught some of your stream yesterday where you were playing more Carby. 🚙 I'm excited to see more of that. I'm surprised that I knew nothing about that Nintendo character but I've just never played a Kirby game myself and never seen gameplay of one either. I'm going to have to get one now that I'm so invested in this one. I'm happy to see you're still playing indie horror type games in between your regular playthroughs to have a break. These are always really fun. I swear, your content gets better all the time and to think that I first "met" you three years ago amazes me sometimes.
Hey Gab! I've experienced some insomnia and recently I found out that your videos really help! Don't take it the wrong way, I've noticed that I'm invested and thrilled enough to keep watching, but you have this ease and comfort that apparently helps me fall asleep, especially with scary games. Thank you so much!! As some might say: you are the Bob Ross of horror games. Also I love the fact that you're Dutch, I'm Dutch as well and sometimes you teach me some Japanese, or I can relate to you suddenly messing up some phrases in English 'cause of your Dutch upbringing, which I can completely relate to. I guess this whole comment boils down to thank you for creating a very chill happy place for me 🥰
I have not played this game, but from a survival mindset I would think the downside to leaving a fire on might be it possibly attracting monsters in the area, or causing more to show up. The game does have a nice feel to it, and I loved the hands sticking up out of the ground. It reminded me of a Venus flytrap.
This felt alot like the book roadside picnic, in some regards more so than Stalker's direct inspiration and references to it (in terms of atmosphere and not being predominantly a shooter)
This is a really well-made game, especially for only 20$. My only slight issue is I wish it had a background ambience and audio. I get that the silence is for fear, but it's a bit odd when it's silent during rain with thunder/lightning. Either way, really enjoying this series so far, thanks Gab.
Reminds me of Chernobylite. The inventory Ui resemblance is so similar. It's also a very good Indi game that I've enjoyed. This looks very fun too. Thank You Gab
This was really cool. I saw some of it before, but watching it this time I got to understand the mechanics and what the game wanted you to do, whereas before it seemed really hard (with heat specifically). I think it's probably hard to make a survival game interesting (to watch at least) without a bunch of enemies but they seemed to pull it off. Looking forward to seeing more!
the fact that there was a stove and charging point here 34:55, but she didn't mind going back and re-charge even though her character's battery is 50%. bruh moment.
I think the sounds among the shrieks are flapping wings, i was hoping she look up rather than just behind her.😜 when she was chopping the weird trees with the blue glow in the vein graveyard, you can see the tip of something’s wing above her, and when she was at the outpost turning off the candles while being attacked by what i think are wraiths, there was also a giant wraith above her 😆 looked like the edges of a torn cloak like that of a dementor from harry potter.
Love the fact she attempts to enter an obviously collapsed tent for a while instead of walking a few steps forward and potentially finding a barrel or stove and survive
I really enjoyed this. Absolutely play more. I got The Thing vibes, Dead Space vibes, 30 Days of Night, and a little bit of Dreamcatcher, though your character doesn't need to use any of the toilets. 😅👏👏
Im just 16minutes in and the game reminded me of darkwoods with the crafting, needing light, the creepy abandoned house, the fact there is something killing you in the dark and am loving this game so far! Still early in the game so my comment might change Lol
at first glance it looks and feels like Metro Exodus/Stalker games, with a few others added to it.. Chernobylite for example, I have done some 7 days to die
These are fun to watch. This game I feel should end with it turns out you are hallucinating and actually killing workers thinking their monsters. That would make this all pretty cool.
I used to live out in the middle of the woods and let me tell you that silence is very real and just as unnerving in real life. It is just so... unsettlingly silent. I have always hated it. It makes me so anxious.

Concentrated pigeon beam! Lol. John the Baptist baptizing Jesus while being blessed by the Holy Spirit. Sorry. Raised Catholic.
I love the use of sheer silence in this game. Makes it all the more uncomfortably realistic.
And the random snarls and growls makes it super intense too
Its not really realistic. No wind sound, no thunder sounds, some enemies make no sound when you are close.
