Whew! Thankfully, this is part of my playlist now for The Doobie Brothers songs. Because the youtube person is going nuts again, deliberately making playlists of every song that I select to watch!
I just saw the Doobies a couple of weeks ago, celebrating over 50 years together, and they are as fresh and awesome as the beginning. Here's to another 50!
The last thing I ever got to do with my dad was go see these guys. I am a millennial and I can’t get enough of this style of music because of my dad. He passed away few days after we saw these guys. Their music always connects me back to him.
Tom, I love all the Doobie songs, have all the albums. "Another Park, Another Sunday" is the one that lives in my heart. I still get chills every time I hear it. It reminds of a place and time that I was going through a similar type of situation. When I hear it, I grow a little more, understand a little more. As I am entering the winter of life, I sense that it's all been made clear. Your song played a part in that growth and development. I don't know if you have ever had a comment like this, but thank you for touching this life with your inspiration. I stand with you for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Those guys did the dirty work and some made the ultimate sacrifice. Giving their kids a chance, making sure that a PTSD sufferer has a rescue dog, buying some artificial limbs- we owe to those people and more. 👍
Comes as no surprise mighty Tom supports the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Since its early years, the band raised awareness and funds for charities, and played for many years in a number of children's hospitals
This is the song that got me through when my World War II veteran grandfather took his own life nearly 30 years after returning home as a result of PTSD and VA prescribed psychiatric drugs. Thank you, Tom Johnston!
One of my favorite DB songs! Saw them perform it live in 1974! Pat Simmons finger picking was outstanding! Never understood why this song didn't get more attention and radio play!
What a performance that was..The great Tom Johnson, plus I get to play along on bass. I seen Vices & Habits tour when I was 14..Im 65 now LOL.I never missed the Doobie Brothers.🍄
1975... 15 years old and listening to this on a Pioneer turntable on Marantz tower speakers and wondering where life would take me. Tom's voice still sends chills through my brain remembering youth so long ago. Thanks Tom for all the good music from the Doobie Brothers. 🤔🤔
This song brings back so many memories from the Summer of 1974. Should have been a much bigger hit and here it is 50 years later and the song is still Great! So happy Tom was able to rejoin the band .. Tom was the voice of the Doobies and should be recognized for his contributions..
my favorite doobie brothers song .so many memory's of the summer of 1974. I was 14 and living in the rolling hills of dairy country in warren county NJ. I remember patty hurst and the SLA thing going on in CA. mostly I think of orange sunsets and drifting away with the music. lol. it has such a soothing melody but at the same time a little sorrowful . that girl that you wish you had back.😊
Tom I have listened to this song hundreds if not a few thousand times. It is my go to song when I need to clear my head. It is a true masterpiece and you have touched so many with it. Thank you for this version. I am truely grateful.
Listened to the Wolf Trap performance recording then watched a few others, now can’t get this song out of my mind! It was great in its day and still is!
Tommy still has that classic rock voice of the '70's. If you listen closely you can hear some vocal processing on the chorus, but the verses are all him sitting there with the acoustic guitar. This is one of his very best compositions.
I was just in the mood literally, (a strange craving), to hear this very song, so I was gonna find it on my phone here, and I had planned on listening to the album version, but then this video appears, and what a treat! This is 100 times better!!! The actual man Tom Johnston himself! And I like the comfortable country setting background, like Tom is sitting on his own front porch. This scenery takes me back to good old Virginia, in the country. The pretty background green grass yard scenery is what Virginia and alot of the Southern states back East look like. And it is humid all along the East coast states. I hope that Tom doesn't mind, but I guess he's used to it. He seems so friendly, and normal, down to Earth, real, and easily approachable, like you could just go up to him and talk to him. Thankfully, there are still some stars who are humble, and they stayed the same no matter the fame. Patrick Simmons Is humble and sweet too, just Iike Tom. It's still tripping me out, how I was literally craving to hear this song, Another Park, Another Sunday, and HERE it is, in the best form possible, sung by the man himself!! Good morning Tom Johnston, and thank you so very much for all the wonderful years of you giving your best; your time and effort and hard work, of being a singer musician and an EXCELLENT guitarist!!! Tom, you always seem to act like it's no big deal for you, like all of this is natural for you, like you were born to do it! ***** reading some of the comments here, were so touching, I started crying. Bless all the dear men who were moved by this video also! Oh, and thank you Tom and Patrick, for yall's labor of love, in your participation and effort with this food outreach project/program that yall are so generously a part of, giving your time, and even charity funds to!! Yall are some fine gentlemen. Again, thanks. Bye now.
Thanks, Tommy. A great Doobie Brothers classic. I so look forward to seeing the band again. Congrats on your induction into the Rock n Roll HOF. Bud Santa Cruz, Ca.
Hi. I feel bad because I didn't even know until recently, (too late), that yall were here in my area, in concert! Next time yall are here, please if you can, let me know ahead of time, so I have time to prepare. I'm in Chula Vista, CA I already sent you my complete info about one or two months ago. Did you see it? I am disabled, and basically housebound, so it would be alright with me if you came to my address.
This is my absolute favorite Doobie Brothers song! I've just now ran across this version and just WOW!!! Not many bands bring back so many good memories as the Doobies.
I only recently started appreciating this song. Great vibe ....like so, so many of your greats that I grew up on for 50 years now! Thank you Tom (and Pat, Tiran, John and John, Keith, Jeff, Michael and Michael) for the music thats added magic to my life for so long !! 💙
Saw ya back in '73 ... looking and sounding great Tom . Highly worthy cause in defense of these brave Patriots . We love the ones who love our blessed America !
Was serving in the usaf 73-77 and saw the doobies in Minneapolis for the first of several times most recently at wolf trap in Vienna Virginia in the early 2000s. Hope to see them again. God bless the veterans, the doobies, and America!!
Tom I simple love yours and Patrick Simons music. I've been listening to you guys since 1968. Awesome music and this song hits my heart and soul more way than you care to know.
I listen to this every single day.....it’s my prayer, brings me to tears every time (those opening harmonies) and Toms velvet voice, the lyrics......this has become the song for my true love, my soulmate, who doesn’t even that he is. 💕
My favorite Doobie s song. What a beautiful melody.
The most under rated singer, songwriter, musician of the last 50 yrs. Brotha Tom Johnston, Genius !
YES !
Tom has the best control!
This is what popular music used to be. This song is almost 50 years old and it still holds up.
It sure does coming from a black female who loved the band before MM
That's what I love about music - it brings people together. Peace. @@cmarie6157
They sure don't make them like they did in the 70's. It was hit after hit after hit in every genre of music.
@@cmarie6157 That's what is great about music - it's color blind.
Real music
It would be awesome to have Tom as a neighbor, hearing him singing from his porch, walking over and sharing a beer and just relaxing.
Yes yes
I’m on harmonies. * I’ll bring munchies.❤
After five decades Tom still sounds the same.
Tom Johnson and The Doobie Brothers. One of the best bands ever. Tom's voice is a signature voice that will last til the end of time.

Still one of the best songs. Yet the radio never plays it. Never get tired of hearing this one.
Because of that line “ and the radio just seems to bring me down”.
Tom always was and always will be my favorite Doobie Brother. He excels at R&B and rock n roll. The most underrated singer/composer/musician ever
Can you imagine being there and listening to him play and sing? Man, in that setting, I’d think I was in music heaven.
Whew!
Thankfully, this is part of my playlist now for The Doobie Brothers songs.
Because the youtube person is going nuts again, deliberately making playlists of every song that I select to watch!
One of my bucket list is to sit and play this song along with Tom.
Charles Thomas Johnston. Truly the best .
Second that.👍

One of a kind. And a seemingly a great guy to boot.
You have a bromance

I L💘VE me some Tom Johnston.
I just saw the Doobies a couple of weeks ago, celebrating over 50 years together, and they are as fresh and awesome as the beginning. Here's to another 50!
Tom still has "it". The best soulful R&B voice on the planet. Met him at a concert in Denver a few decades ago. What a wonderful human being.
Pure genius
The last thing I ever got to do with my dad was go see these guys. I am a millennial and I can’t get enough of this style of music because of my dad. He passed away few days after we saw these guys. Their music always connects me back to him.
