Since discovering eMTB, I’ve been addicted. Coming from a road background, I never would’ve thought that I’d convert to an e-bike, but given the practicality & fun I’ve had, I wouldn’t go back. I tend to cover my efforts on the road bike whilst commuting home & cruise/commute to work on the e-bike for $$ savings and to get some fresh air. Keen for the eMTB video 👀. Great job, Phil.
I live in Brisbane and commute 20ks a day every day, a mix of road bike, XC and recently a E-cargo bike. The ebike is a game changer in terms of replacing short trips, and being able to make it to work without needing to shower (do need to change clothes though). Also able to do Bunnings and shopping trips with it.
That's awesome! Yeah I think just the change of clothes would be fine, except on those super humid days we get up here. I will definitely need to try the challenge next on a cargo ebike, that will be able to replace the car on those big shopping days!
@@bikesonline Got to really consciously sit under the 25km/h limit to not have to shower. Too bad Polygon doesn't make an E-cargo bike, there is not too many well spec'd and reasonably priced options available.
We are only just starting to get some decent paths here but it's definitely getting better, I think over time it's going to have to become a necessity for cities to have decent cycling infrastructure!
I think so! As long as you can find a good solution to carry your gear to work, or you can just use a backpack :). I know some people have two wheelsets they swap between for mtb and commuting so your mtb tyres don't wear out so fast
You guys need to introduce eBakfiets bikes like the Urban Arrow. I want an eBike but I want a front loading cargo bike for hauling kids around. I should add, I bought a Polygon Xtrada 6 2x11 in 2021 for fun with mountain biking. I never intended for it to be my commuter ride and now it’s my preferred ride to work with the train.
I was the Marin site when I asked you, not listed there. And yeah sure any ebike can be ridden dead battery, but after a recent experience getting a 70lb radbike home I wouldn't want to do that again. @@bikesonline

Thanks Devan! Super keen on an EMTB. I can see myself becoming a full convert.
I like that idea, keeps you fresh for the training!

@@bikesonlinecan you guys start selling some cargo bikes or would that be too difficult considering the direct to the consumer model?
As soon as summer months come, I want to start commuting to work 👍🏻
The ride to work dream. Looks like a great bike Phil.
100%! Thanks Colin!
I wish we had more bike paths in the UK the road is way too busy for bikes to be safe I think

Great video! Can you tell us what rack and cargo baskett is on the bike in the video?
Thank you! Great question! Hopefully @trailtalkmtb can help us out with that one!
ebikes are not cheating if you ride more than you normally would :)
G'day Phil cool video. Do you think that an Emtb would be a good idea for commuting? I do have a few off road sections.

Enjoy that Xtrada!!
You can buy running shoes and save even more 😂
Can't deny that!
How much does this bike weigh? Could it be ridden if the battery died or would it be to heavy.
For exact weight figures it would be best to contact Marin, and any E-bike could technically be ridden with a dead battery but it's not intended to.

Can it handle weight? Im at 218lb these days and once a week I carry 50lb of groceries. Im getting tired of walking back home with those heavy bags.
That sounds reasonable in terms of loading the bike. To be sure I’d verify the capacity from the Marin website.
polygon needs to have a emtb
They make the mt bromo
