Many people are commenting on how poised, confident, and comfortable she seems at 13. I don't think it's a coincidence that she grew up in a large family with 3 siblings (including 2 brothers). Siblings help to socialize you because 1) they have their own priorities and won't always (or ever) treat you like a precious little prince/princess, and 2) even when you have a fight, you can't just cut them off; you have to learn to live with each other. These are valuable life lessons that too many kids these days don't receive because they're the only child in the family, and surrounded by helicopter parents, as well as an over-zealous safety culture.
There’s billions of people with similar family dynamics to ScarJo. There’s only one ScarJo. Not everything needs to be social commentary about how bad the youth has become.

What a trip to see her here so young while I’m thinking of her as Black Widow!
Agreed. The economy affects the way kids turn out in some unexpected ways.
There’s billions of people with similar family dynamics to ScarJo. There’s only one ScarJo. Not everything needs to be social commentary about how bad the youth has become.
When the two of them look at the camera in mock shock. LOL. They had many more interviews. Friends.
She was so cute and sweet when she was a child, and just a total babe when she got older. Scarlet Johannsson baby! WOOOO!!!!
Damn comparing her to me as 13 years old its like comparing Space Shuttle and Bicycle! How some kids can be so outspoken and smart!
Even at 13, she had a mature, throaty voice.
She had goals! She is definitely brilliant at 13
I would've asked her more questions about her role in the film, and how she liked the story and the script, and working with such a gifted
actor like Mr. Redford etc. Letterman always seems to wanna interject with far too much humor so you don't get a better feel for the
guest. She's very pretty, and quite intelligent.
WOW, always knew she wanted to be an actress. That's rare like Catherine Schell of yesteryear. When I was that age I knew what I wanted to be but was unfortunately living in a complete hell of anxiety, depression, panic attacks and phobias. I remember seeing "The horse whisperer" at the cinema, beautiful atmospheric film❤
What a sweet, intelligent girl. I hope she hasn’t changed very much over the years.
Wow. What a grounded human being and so bright
when scarlet saw redford on the set of winter soldier and shouted boooey!!!!!
everyone else must hv been so confused
Amazing clip. It's nice to see a child actress that grew up to still be not only successful in the industry but to also keep grounded.
I pretty much had her penciled in as a future superstar when I saw the movie. She was just such a beautiful kid I didn't see her catching the ugly virus as an adult. It's literally amazing how similar she looks now at 37 to when she was 13.
cringe

Why cringe?! She looks the same. Some people’s features don’t change that much.

Great interview! She is brilliant!
Scarlett, inteligente y simpática... 😇
So cute! I like her hair like that. Well-spoken teen!
And 16 years later she again starred with Robert Redford in Captain America 2.
That girl was more mature that most people in their 40s... is absolutely astonishing to see this in 2024... what an amazing young lady
She is precious!
My daughter's the same age, she makes me proud... Scarlett's parents must be so proud of their kiddo
🥺💖She was so cute... just look at her face
❤ a very sweet girl who handles the interview with ease and relaxed, full of dreams that she would more than achieve, beautiful journalistic note ♥️
He's almost 90 years old now, and Bob is alive and that's unbelievable. AKA Robert Redford
She always wanted to be an actress, she started young, and to this day she hasn't had one monumental role. Now THATS amazing!
LMFAO careful you don't cut yourself on that edge champ.
Aww, I remember as a kid, when I first saw her in "The Horse Whisperer" = girlcrush activated. Gosh, I miss the 90s.
Adorable as always. Intelligent, articulate, and pretty
