I feel bad for Bart because he is always been looked down on or seen as dumb but he is smart in his own way,
He literally survives sideshow Bob, the pranks he does takes a lot of thought and planning, and he knows multiple languages. Yet all the attention still goes to Lisa

At first I fought Bart was a bad person but now all I want to do is give this kid a hug😢
He's never been a bad kid, but he's the product of environment, a abusive or negligent at the best father, who ignore or communicate with him mostly with violence strangling him, don't keep the own responsabilità of the growth of his son. His school failed him, I remember the episode there the th kindergarten bart tries to recite the alphabet, doesn't remember that come after the D, the teacher tell him "F you will get a lot of them in future", and practically labeling from the beginning problematic. Or when is discovering that bart had a attention deficit, instead to help him to try to find a way how to face the problem they told him if you get another F at the next test you must repeat the year.

I remember the episode when Lisa got bumped up to the third grade and Bart got bumped down to the third grade. She couldn't stand that bart was the smartest kid in the class. When she found out that Bart had memorized the test, she tattled on him. This backfired and raised his grade up to an A+
Because he was the favorite. Lisa being a hard worker was how she got noticed as a middle child

Honestly one of the worst feelings ever is feeling as if you're the least special person on your birthday. My grandad got sick on my 18th so my mother had to go to the hospital, the whole family was worried and they also had jobs to do, my younger siblings went over to our cousin's house to play and I was left alone, at the end of the day they invited over relatives to have a little party, but all they did was play fifa with my older brother. They couldn't get me any presents since everyone was busy so there was just a card saying happy birthday with some money in it left on the table. I felt like nothing that day, my big 18th was just an annoyance to everybody around me. Everyone I knew went out on their 18th birthday and had a huge party with friends and family. I was just left alone, the one thing I wished for when I blew out my candles was to be happy. I still haven't been granted that wish. I still feel like nothing.

I'm sorry that happened to you dude I know how you feel. Everytime my birthday comes and I choose somewhere to go and what I want to do my older sister will trick the whole family to go somewhere else where she wants. And on the day of my birthday it was like she was the center of attention on my own day and I was barely notice except for blowing the candles.
I can relate to this story and I’m very sorry that you had to go through that. On my 12th birthday we went to a hibachi grill and it was exciting and all and we were gonna do the cake when we all got home. When we got home we were all singing the happy birthday song and right when it was time to blow out my candles, my mother stopped me before I did it and let my little sister blow them out instead and then there was saliva on the cake. I was so frustrated that I just went upstairs and my mother grounded me for being so rude on my birthday. I really do hope it doesn’t happen again because its not like I can do that on my sisters birthday. With like 1000 people coming over and a whole pink party with everyone so excited for her. I won’t let it happen again
Story and Advice:
I know how that feels. When I lived with my mom, me and my sister had conjoined parties so she could save money. Not only that, but they celebrated on my sisters actual birthday instead of mine. My siblings hogged the attention so I just stayed away. Also to the person who said their mother blew out their candles and you can’t do it. You can. You be nasty back and make sure there is plenty of spit on it. For the person with the sister, I’m not sure what to say apart from she won’t get no where in life. She would probably be a gold diggers. And as for the main comment, you do and are valued in life. You’re just around people who are to blind to see it. I hope this helps y’all.

I know how this feels. My sister never did this but whenever my sister needs something she got it no questions asked. Back then if she asked for a ride to her friends my Dad just said sure. But whenever I just needed a ride down the road to Walmart it was such an inconvenience and was annoyed even though my trip was alot shorter than her's. I was always ignored growing up. My sister got the most respect from everyone in my family. I'm still treated like garbage from people who never even took the chance to know me so it's like being in school except everyone just thinks i'm scum. People I thought were friends and people I could trust turn on me or abandon me and if I tried ot get in touch they get mad or blocked me.
To this day I still feel like no one gives a damn about me and every day just feels like a failure.

I relate to this so much. Yesterday my brother was laying on the couch crying, I was right by them eating, when my dad asked him what happened, he said that I was being mean to him, I did absolutely nothing, but because he’s the favorite, they didn’t listen to my story, and they took away my phone for the rest of the day

Part of me wants to take Bart’s side, but the other part of me is disgusted that he turned his nose up at a cake his parents were giving him because it had Krusty on it.
Her parents literally bathe Bart in affection and enable all kinds of behavior yet they turn their noses to her accomplishments while rewarding Bart for doing the bare minimum. Bart is extremely spoiled and disrespectful to them both with only a small soft spot for his mom. I’ve been watching Simpsons since I was a kid in the nineties and Lisa is never the center of attention when she deserves it, but Bart can break laws and endanger people and he gets showered with affection and praise. Go easy on Lisa, her parents don’t care and even when she becomes president, they place Bart above her.
I mean, part of this is because of Bart. He akways makes himself the center of attention and Lisa tries to compensate. It doesn't help that even when she is being nice people look down on her

I get where you’re coming from but I really don’t think what Homer said was that bad, especially so if you consider who we’re talking about. Between what he said and the tone of voice it sounded to me like he was saying “sorry you didn’t get the cake you wanted, but you mother tried to make you happy so let’s try to appreciate the thought.”
Though of course I could be wrong, but ultimately that’s a good lesson to learn for a child: we won’t always get exactly what we want but we should still appreciate people’s effort in the things they do for us, causing a scene on the spot won’t do anyone any good.
Nah homer wasn’t doing anything wrong he was just telling him like “hey, I understand that, but your mother put a lot of time to make your birthday special, please appreciate her for it and we can talk about this later”

It's still his birthday, it's something he looks forward to and as a child it's one of the most important things for him..

@@Vgamer311 this isn’t exactly a counter point to the whole lesson thing but later in this same episode Homer gets high and Bart gets upset with him. Bart was being neglected by practically everyone in his family aside from grandpa in this episode and when Bart and Homer talk it looks like they have a heart to heart moment just for Homer to say that he’s just glad Bart is a mess up like him because that makes him not the only screw up in the family so I’m not too sure about Homer trying to teach Bart a valuable life lesson (I think the lesson you interpreted though is still right and valid though)
It gets worse from there, when Bart is 15 and gets hurt, Lisa helps him, which angers Bart saying that "it still has to be about you".

I can relate to this a lot. My brother was born a few days after my birthday, and he's younger. (And the favored child) The day I turned 13, they forgot. They were all busy getting his party set up. Just for some context, he always gets a big party at a trampoline park or something while I get a cupcake and a 10-dollar gift card. When I asked if I could make cupcakes for my birthday, my parents just said, "Your brothers 7th birthday is important, we can celebrate yours another day." So, I spent my birthday alone in my bedroom and never even got a happy birthday.

That’s how it feels sometimes when someone younger than you is doing better than you ever did, you just start to lose hope in anyone seeing more out of you, and after that you drift along the prospect of getting better or getting worse, you dip into one or the other randomly but you never can stay. It’s how it feels, especially when they dont even know what to get you and whatnot

As a younger sibling my brother always has to be the center of attention. On my 7th birthday ne cancelled my party to play with his friends.

I'm the youngest and I always try my best to give my siblings everything I possibly can, they deserve it a lot! Especially because I was bratty when I was 5. I always make sure to give them the bigger or better pieces of foods n stuff, or if they want to borrow something I give it to em :)
As an only child who lives with younger cousins I relate
You can see in barts eyes, depression has its grip on him, glad to know he continues on though throughout the series, it wouldn't be the same without him

I can appreciate midern simpsons going back to the classic roots in some cases thay made us appreciate the characters and the show in the first place.
Bart is hardy appreciated by the other characters in the show, he shows that if he really tries he can be really good at something but most of the time Marge doesn’t care and praises Lisa for every little thing while homer rarely cares about anything.
There are 3 sides to this story.
1. Lisa did not intentionally ruin Bart's birthday, and just got excited about the news.
2. Lisa did intentionally ruin Bart's birthday to be the center of attention.
3. If Lisa doesn't stop wanting to be the center of attention, she will INTENTIONALLY ruin Bart.

Lisa has always been attention seeker. For example in one episode Bart finds the diary of Edna krabappel ( RIP ) and reads that she had always believed in someone she describes like him. He feels so motivated and heartwarmed by this that he actually tries to get good grades, and does. But Lisa is suspicious of it and finds the diary. Turns out Mrs. Krabappel was talking about her cat. Lisa then tells Bart the fact, right before entering a spelling bee. Lisa absolutely destroys Barts confident just for her own ego. She really is a smart kid, but she doesn't know how to think about the people around her, only herself. Barts been through some stuff the last 34 years. 😔
