    karpov - one of the all time greats, on the very top.

  • @FrankyBangkok
    @FrankyBangkok 10 лет назад +83

    Why are here critics about Karpov?
    He likes to play and he is still stronger as the most of us.
    By the way. Karpov won in this tournament against the tournament winner Magnus Carlsen.
    I hope that this stop the critics ...

    • @FrankyBangkok
      @FrankyBangkok 10 лет назад +4

      firendable
      It was a blitz game and Karpov was never a good blitzer! And Magnus was always a blitz monster.
      By the way:
      Magnus Carlsen won yesterday the Rapidchess World championship. If he win the today starting Blitz World Championship, he is the first person ever to hold all 3 titles at the same time.

      Yes, karpov was for 20 years under the top 5 blitz blayer in the world.
      he is still under the top 200 blitz player at this moment. That is a blitz ranking that the most chess player dream to have.

    Excelente video sencillo pero sustancioso entre dos grandes del Ajedrez, Karpov con ese gran historial en este deporte, con un estilo de juego tan sublime y pulcro sin lugar a dudas de lo mejores jugadores de la elite y Kramnik que nos igue regalando buenas participaciones no tan constantes pero fue quien destrono a Kasparov en el titulo mundial y eso ya es historia.

    the young karpov (especially 1978- 1982) cannot be beaten by anyone in blitz & in a long games

  • @Gaba-oo4qb
    @Gaba-oo4qb 3 года назад +3

    Karpov is a great player who had the title for a solid 10 years! However, Kramnik is a very accurate and solid player who has quite a few years on Karpov.
    And think in this game, Karpov was too aggressive too fast and over extended his pawn chain on the king side which led to a lot of weaknesses in the middle game. Which then, Kramnik started taking advantage of.

  • @hvutrong
    @hvutrong 14 лет назад +3

    Karpov is like "I know what you're doing Kramnik - nod, nod", "Hold on, there's something else, oh, that's another trap - nod nod" , "that's right, I'm gonna.. wait, but he can still move the Queen....nod - nod" after a minute or so Karpov "never mind, lets make it quick" lol

  • @izveglic
    @izveglic 12 лет назад +2

    It`s silly to compare Carlsen`s and Nakamura`s speed with Karpov. He is 60 years old. I am more than positive that none of todays top GMs will play as good as karpov or Kasparov once they reach 45+.... That`s simply because todays GMs are far less ceative and far far more into memorising the openings and lines. I am not saying that`s wrong, it`s just a new age. Btw, no one played as fast as Capablanka :)))

    Quanto mi piacerebbe poter leggere qualche commento in italiano.
    Ma nel mio paese, tutto quello che ha a che fare con il cervello, salvo strette minoraze, è ormai bandito. Aiutateci!!!
    Comunque, Karpov è stato ed è un grande scacchista. Solamente, è fisiologico che con l'età che avanza, faccia fatica a competere con chi è molto più giovane di lui.

  • @F1n1sh3d
    @F1n1sh3d 12 лет назад +1

    Look closely. Karpov didn't move the clock closer towards him. He simply pulled it back and pushed it forward again. Kramnik was the one who pulled it towards him.

    @atrebil71 Ho detto che è inutile aspettarsi commenti in italiano su un filmato pubblicato in inglese in cui, a rigor di logica, anche un italiano commenterebbe in inglese.
    Per il resto mi sembra che siamo d'accordo sul fatto che saper giocare bene a scacchi non implica l'essere più intelligenti e quindi il non vedere eventuali commenti di italiani qui, con la premessa di cui sopra, non significa necessariamente che la maggior parte degli italiani sia stupida.
    Salutoni

    Well i will say that the best blitz players are the best classical players who have deep understanding of the position. Now does age matter?? Yes if a player is active with current chess developments than yes he will have current knowlege plus experiance. So players like kasparov and karpov will anytime beat current FM and IMs and GMs (excluding the top Super GMs). But when u talk about current young top players like Carlsen and Aronian and Nakamura and Caruana, well they too have deep understanding of position and they study chess a lot which makes up for the experiance. Then these players also have stamina and activ brain and they do have novelties up their sleeves.

    @gpbiancoli Se io faccio un commento in Italiano su un qualcosa pubblicato da un Inglese, sarei un maleducato? Mi pare assurdo. Per il resto, non mi considero un qualunquista solo perchè registro che nel mio Paese un generale degrado culturale.
    E non mi considero intelligente, solo perchè gioco a scacchi.

    @atrebil71 visto che l'autore ha pubblicato in inglese, è normale, oltre che buona educazione, commentare in inglese, anche se si è italiani.
    Inoltre due appunti:
    1) il tuo commento sull'Italia è qualunquista e questa superficialità è ancora peggio del "non essere intelligenti"
    2) giocare bene a scacchi non significa essere più intelligenti della norma. Significa allenarsi e studiare per saper giocare bene a scacchi. Punto. Non è che, visto che sai giocare a scacchi, ti credi intelligente?
