Rick Rubin created a monster with this one. He got the best performances out of that band like no other producer. And George Clinton produced their second album.

FLEA is one of the best bassists of all time….Getty Lee and Les Claypool could never get funky like he does! After I heard FLEA for the first time I bought a bass and never put it down. He made this band famous and carried them over 30 years! You got skillz on the bass too my friend, well played.

This is my favorite Chili’s song ever. It’s so funky and so hilarious, but then that outro is just beautiful. Plus it’s basically the ending of their greatest album, Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

The Righteous and the Wicked might be the most underrated track on the record. Absolute killer bass and John really does a great job playing off Flea in the verses
This has been my favorite RHCP song since I heard it at like 13. I turn 40 at the end of the month.
I discovered RHCP when I was 13 and turn 43 in October. Nothing will ever top this album for me.
That whole album is tight. This song and also Apache Rose Peacock are so great.
This is my all time favorite LSD album. That album cover is just insane in the midst of a trance!

As far as I’ve always been concerned, this is the Chili Peppers’ masterpiece. It’s one of the most perfectly crafted songs I’ve ever heard, and that ending/outro is haunting as hell. On the one hand, I always thought it’s a shame that because of the song’s uh...lyrical content (lol) it never got to be heard by as many people as it deserved, but at the same time, it makes it feel even more special to me because of it. Because I’ll know someone’s really a fan if they cite this as one of their favorite songs.
