You can do it relatively cheaply at first. You can usually get 40-50% of new memberships so grab a year for around $50US. Rookie class content should be all free. The biggest expense is usually your first season out of rookies where you might have to purchase several tracks at 15USD each. Volume discounts can help and then you can earn upto $10 credit each season for participation in official series which also helps. Of course if you wanted all the content then it would cost a lot, but you don't need it. Even I probably have only around half the content and I have purchased what I have slowly over time.
