Jimmy and I were great friends for about 10 years til his death in 1998. I loved his singing and if you ever saw him in concert you know why they called him Mr. Excitement. What a guy and great friend. RIP brother!
i try not to think about what happend to jimmy and his poor ex wife on that tragic day, the good die young, god bless you Jimmy your music will be with us forever. thanks for posting this great song by the Legend that was Jimmy Ellis.

superb - I have a fair bit of Orion material - The Elvis tribute concert, & live at the north 40 club on dvd , and about 7 cds. but I have never heard that - love it, I have to say though that one of my all time favourites of his is Lonesome Angel, which I believe he wrote himself and would recommend anyone to listen too

Don't get me wrong there's great Elvis acts up north but in being a southerner born and raised in the southern delta a northern accent sticks out by their dialect and word pronouciation. Northerners pronouce the words how they're supposed to be said. We southerners make shortcuts in prounoucing the words. Just in Elvis's talking it's obvious where he's from for example when he introduced Charlie onstage he said "Cholly".
If you're a fan of both EP & JE you know the differences in their voices. Steve- do you know the venue of the show where Orion is wearing the burgundy pants? I'm sure he's singing Texas Tea with that hat on :) I'm trying to figure out if that is me & my cousins standing in front of him. (The 3 little girls)

Sorry but this is ELVIS singing this song. Not even the best tribute artist can sound JUST like him. And that did! I have an Orion album where this is a lot of talking in one of the songs and you can't impersonate that well for that long and sound exactly like Elvis did. Listen closely to even the best of the best.
