    My team build is all about stacking various debuffs. The pugilist fits in very well when you use his poison/bleed attack, and then you switch to defensive stance and use his normal attack with a weapon that has opportunistic burst (bandit katar, attacks an additional time for every debuff the target has). I'm stacking so many debuffs sometimes that he will just instakill bosses and enemies with huge HP bars because he is hitting them literally a dozen times. And then I use the oil for him that does extra HP dmg every time he hits, so again that's an extra like 5% dmg or so with EVERY blow. It's so funny to watch him walk up to an enemy with thousands of HP and just delete them.

      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад +2

      That is not a bad combination, but I personally dislike the debuff route. Simply because it typically takes a lot of actions to set it up and then the pay-off isn't the greatest.
      It is a very similar logic as stacking permanent damage buffs to hit much harder later in the fight. The reality in Wartales at the moment is that bar a handful of exceptions, most of the fights are done in a single round, latest in two rounds. Whilst combos are fun and could work well, the time to set them up carries an opportunity cost. Could I do a build that sets multiple people on fire, bleeding and poisons them plus deals another debuff - sure. But I could also simply create a build that kills the same amount or nearly same amount of enemies in a single turn, removing them from the initiative order altogether.

      @@SykenPlays so far I have found great success (extreme mode) in utilizing an entire team that stacks debuffs and benefits from them. I have 2 tank brutes and one aoe brute, for instance, they all have a debuff attack and they all get plus 20% dmg and crit when attacking debuffed characters. So in some ways, I kind of am just stacking raw dmg, rather than DoT. But, perhaps you're still right. Maybe there's a better way.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад

      @@PatrickMartinez1 Yes, Extreme is a different beast, I agree with that. Good to compare notes on the assumptions. On extreme, the hitpoint pools are so inflated that percentage HP damage is the way to go.
      I referred to Expert or below difficult, where it is simply not efficient. You are better off killing enemies outright.

      @@SykenPlays no I meant that I am playing in extreme mode, and doing very well. But still, maybe you're right.

    I noticed that although you mention quick strikes should give rage, in your video at the 14:57 mark you use the skill in attack stance, but it doesn't show any indication that it generated the 4 rage.
    Can you confirm that either the Tyrant's specialization ability doesn't yet apply rage properly, or that the value is hidden somewhere? Also with that said, would you recommend the Slayer instead even with the light armor if Tyrant is effectively left with the 2m push+medium armor as its only ability?
    Thank you for your showcase of the Pugilist!

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад

      That is true James, good observation. Currently the true strikes are bugged and not working as intended, which is also one of the reasons, why I did not recommend them.
      The alternative build that I woud recommend is indeed the slayer specialization, which works suprisingly well with poison builds and other debuff builds.

    Damn that looks like a really strong build!

    • @SykenPlays

      It works very well, the skills are straight up buffing the already high base damage. The class is good, but does not outshine the others, which is helpful.

    Personal Challenge is great, its one extra attack for free, why would you not take it?

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  5 месяцев назад +1

      It is not bad, the challenge with most of the builds is that the other stuff is just a tad better. And for the pugilist it comes down to maximizing the damage on the existing attacks, since the class can already get additional attacks quite easily.

    • @danielkjm
      @danielkjm 5 месяцев назад

      @@SykenPlays You can strike 3 times with base attack, 2 times with arterial strike then +1 attack with personal challenge, then +1 attack every time you do more then 5 attacks. 7 Attacks per turn, 4 stacks of poison and bleeding and there is a Hat that every time you engage you do an attack of opportunity. My build are a few points into movement and all else is into Dex, there is not a single target he can't kill in a single turn, and the pugilist class has the highest Damage per turn of all classes.

    i have problems finding any use for it in large scale fight
    it looks as pure 1v1 class that prety much dosnt have any play in my 40+ party since it dosnt have any AoE, it cannot tank, it dosnt have the mobility or utility of rogue, it dosnt have acces to offhand and everything this class has to offer is centered around 1v1 which other classes do way better in AoE, and all the weapons i have found for it only do pure damage or dots, no CC, no buffing, no unique class buffs/debuffs, the only thing that comes to my mind is oil aplication with many hits but then it dosnt do anything for me outside of 1v1 which i dont need/value in 40v60 grup fights

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад

      That is a fair point for a mass battle. In an arena setting it looks different. I really like that the different classes have distinct features of what they are good at and what can be improved.

    I wouldn't be surprised if the pugilist got nerfed in future. It seems it might be a bit too strong.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад +1

      Amongst the DPS classes, it has a clear niche, which is single target DPS.
      I was thinking the exact same thing as you Nathan, but it plays out surprisingly fair (as in generally balanced). Maybe the signature ability will get a nerf, due to the kill potential on bosses.
      The class performs very well against single targets, but is for instance not as strong in killing the backline as an archer and/or a ranger. But it performs better against armored targets for instance.

      Oh, cmon, tell it to repost build swordsman, who can kill up to 3-4 ANY human target during his active turn phase. And then one shot anyone, who will hit him.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@DimaRosoha Each of the dps builds has their own niche to shine, PUGILSTs one would be in the boss killing / hard target killing department.
      Others do have their own strength. Executioner for instance is super strong against multi-targets.

    Very weak build. Couldn't kill a heavy shieldman for using a basic attack/skill. Passive abilities are taken at random and do not synergize with each other or with the skill.

    • @SykenPlays
      @SykenPlays  8 месяцев назад +4

      I disagree with your statement. Had this build after the playthrough, it can kill any enemy of up to level 14 with a single attack routine. Is very tank on top of it, takes not a lot of damage and bypasses guard efficiently. It is objectively a strong build.
      Feel free to provide your build idea to the viewers and elaborate why you think that build is superior.

      @@SykenPlays I already show this on my streams. There is a clear synergy between skills and passive talents that you are not observing. I don’t want to rudely criticize your work, but I advise you to think more about your build options.

      @@rider5036 I have tried different builds and measured the objective performance (as in: net damage with the builds). The passive damage upgrades on level 5+7 with the build selection shown resulted in a comparably high dps. On-top of that the build has 55+guard and can defend itself very well with medium armor.
      Unless you can showcase an objectively better build, I would not see any reasonable argument why the build that I showcased isn‘t strong.
