I recently started Wartales a few days ago, your guides are very helpful!
Thanks, appreciate it! Have fun with the game ^^
I'm not too sure about the extreme difficulty, but at least for experienced mode, just remember that there's no need to always feed your troop to the full amount, allowing you to actually hold a fairly large party size. There's no associated benefits to fully feeding your crew. Your crew, with 4 people around the fire, can already generate 1 happiness each (offsetting a -4 happiness). Alcohol of any kind also generates 1 happiness each, with some foods like syrup generating 2 happiness. This means that you can offset negative happiness while underfeeding your troop. I've done this for days in a row with no negative repercussions or traits. Unless you're desperate to generate renown points or something, you should be able to easily keep 15 happiness for a good amount of game weeks.
I always thought that it would probably work like that since I run a large party, 15 peeps and 2 bears. Just never did try it and no need now since I have plenty of money and in endgame. If I start another run I definitely won´t feed them fully and will try to maintain a balance.
Just want to add that you potentially can generate 15 influence fairly easy by fully feeding your party, as excess happiness grants influence. This influence is crucial early game for the extra aptitude purchases.
I stared the game few days ago and on just medium difficulty my ass was handed back to me on day 8... :D
That is when I came across your guides and started enjoying the game. Beside the core mentioned in your video I have added one more weapon style just for the fun of it.
Thank you for the guides.
My current party is 48 members strong. I have no problem paying or feeding them. And I love the 100 enemy battles.
Great Video!
The Ranger Strategist is my 1st must have, and the upgraded smokescreen synergizes well with the Infantryman's overwatch skill Barrage (and Spearman's Spearwall).
Add the upgraded Knife Throw at level 5 and he will turn the tide of battle in one turn with all the moves he can make.
amazing guide for an amazing game, thx for ur effort to help beginners and avanced players.
the game has almost everything i like about turnbased rpgs, just a few quality of life things would be great like a filter for the inventory would make the game even better.

That game looks familiar 🤔
i start play the game 2 days ago, i have experience form jagged alliance and turn games in General. And in this game u need think your strategy before the fight, the game is focused on fighting beside of exploring, looting, crafting, and Quests. I thought that the "Vanguard" is a nice to have ability, but as you said a "destroyer" is better, because it takes 50% less Damage, i think this is a must have Perk. I will Focus my Troops to have at least 1-2 Destroyers in my Team, i will play with at least 1 Harponeer, (which is also very powerful in combination).
Fishing. I give up fishing 12months ago as I can not catch a fish, ever. There is a animal skill where a bear that is in your team will catch fish. I haven't used animals for a long time. Thanks for the effort to bring this guide to us. Keep up the good work.
Rapidly click not click and hold
Hold down to move line left, release to move line right.
For me the best team is 10 cuz their is 10 professions. Thanks for the tips
Hi, great guide! One question regarding scholar, I've read in multiple places that is one of the essential professions, you did not include it, why?
How would you further skill your mercs? I reached allready level 6 and 7 and i am about to have to choose again at level 8. Btw your guides are very helpfull, one can easily be overhelmed by all the concepts in this game.
Need a guide to where the belt and backpack items are. Or is it RNG? Or that bleeding oil i googled it but couldn't find where you buy it? Do u know where? Awesome videos man, I used your advice for early game and it helped heaps.
Bleeding oil you craft
My crew size is 22 ahahaha, 4 of them are Master Cook so reduce 2 food per Cook. So far the only time I fight against 24 or more is when I fight Rat infestation or random encounter saving merchants against outlaws
Merchants, rats and especially knapsack/civilian groups can be pretty big ^^
Didn't they need riposte fighter? Counter attack now only affects the first engagement.
AoO now ignores guard so you take more damage from the hit trading
It would be great if you could share the location/quest to obtain some key belt/accessories item.
Good idea for a next video!
i only got one archer and he his a beast master, got 2bear and a wolf. Cost a lot of food but can be helpful
For the Beastmaster lovers having a Tracker in the team makes your Bear immortal as heals him with total points equal to Bear's Constitution
wait i thought RUN, FIRST AID and WRATH costs 1 Valor Point Only? how come it costs 2? is it because of extreme mode?
the belt item that gives you -50% op. attack damage suffered is quite op for the fighter build. you can combo it with the riposte shield and the deflection perk... you can attack and disengage in sequence to earn valor, take no damage and melt the enemy. you can also combo with lvl 10 skill of 50% chance to attack on dsng instead of being attacked. Basic one of the most broken builds (english aint my main language... sorry)
Your English is proficient, don’t compare yourself to others, but how far you’ve come.
Also, what’s the belt called? I’d love to have my shield-maidens decimate the enemy.
Tin lucky Charm
late game pro tip, give COOK to everyone (that dosnt need specific profesion) before rest, the masters food reduction stacks. and salt scoop should also stack on multiple cooks
its handy with big parties, but require some grinding
Salt scoop only works when assigned to a pot
sorry but, im at the "end game", i got most of the characters lvl 11 and im having the akhedian things and whatever, but still i cant use my knowledge point to unlock the anvil skill to build akhedian or rimested steel one hand weapon like sword or mace one handed. Idk if i missed some missions, or just bug, but i dont think i need some recipe to unlock them, do u have any suggestions guys?
You need to craft the first items to unlock them. The ragged armor unlocks the first tier armor, if you craft those, you unlock the second etc. you will see this 'blueprint' icon next to things you havent crafted yet, do so and they will.become available in the Knowledge tab
@@04AMofficial i might love u for that u know?
Locked or Adaptive?
I wound up with 5 bears, 1 crocswine, and 3 mole rats with my 12 people. Way to many for adaptive. Battles started crashing my game with the amount of fighters on both sides
Do wolves and other fighter animals increae enemy count?
Yes they do
Why not use viper dagger en frenzy with backstab for poison
I didn't unlock any of those yet on purpose - saving the good stuff for now with future Extreme Difficulty guides on how to tackle all bosses/tombs/arenas etc
I'm confused, most of you're abilities cost 2 points to use, but with mine most cost 1. Does it change late game?
They cost more when u play on extreme
Do you not like Sword Master? I find that skill more appealing
Its nice but cannot instantly be cast. Also, doesnt work in every situation. Youd want Destabilize for Heavy Armor as well
It’s a rough skill to trigger and very situational.. I have to attack twice before I can use it? Orrrr I can immediately debuff an enemy, dealing damage, then basic strike, then wrath if I have the valor to clean them up. Plus the heavy armor is NICE 😮💨😮💨
@@04AMofficial I'm sold, besides I can use a two hand sword as a fighter
No spearman or warrior? Thoughts on them?
Not dynamic/versatile enough imo. These classes are just too great for all situations
@@04AMofficial so if you went beyond 6 person party, you still would just use another swordsman or brute?
15 days and level 7 already? I’m like a month and a half in and barely level 5-6. Is there a exp farming method?
Month 6 day 15 :P You can do it much faster, really depends on how much you do combat in the game
@@04AMofficial oh, guess Im just dumb hahaha
What are the consequences for re-assigning professions mid game level 7ish? I have some sub-optimal assignments to the wrong character type and am wondering what happens to the experience accumulated by the individual when you reassign to another party member. Thanks for letting me know.
You basically lose the progress of that profession and have to work from 0 with another one (while it goes pretty fast tbh imo)
I switch sometimes, a miner can go to almost full level in a couple hours of playtime when revisiting the mines every now and then
A cook can level super fast as well if you have plenty of resources, while something like a Thief will be more difficult to level- a LOT of stealing
@@04AMofficial thanks for your kind response!
They increased Taunt to 2 VP.
Pretty good guide. If I played normally I would've totally went with something like this. But I prefer funny party compositions.
Right now I play full plague party. One ranger built into poisoner, one archer just to control my rats, copious amounts of rats, some with perk that allows them to reproduce, some with the perk that allows them to call for reinforcements under 50% hp, and 5 plague-ridden zombies from Ludern. Poison is OP, especially if every bite of every rat adds two stacks to it and whole battlefield is in poison clouds from plague-ridden zombies. One thing I fear is those a-hole outlaw archers that bombard you with fire.
I hate that this game basically forces you to have 5+ humans to cover all of the professions. Even doing dual professions, you need at least 4..
I wanted to do a play through with only 1 beastmaster, a tank, and a pack of Animals. I quickly realized that advancing professions would be near impossible if I had to split them all between 2 companions.
I’d have to hyper focus on 1 at a time just to level them decently
Slaves for proffesion
Just carry a load of slaves?
I stopped you at crew size as you have spend 400+ hours in game not learning which is the best one . 95% of my battles in WT I've outnumbered my foes with a steadly incresing party number based on region (locked region scaling). GL ! tip: when enteering a new region, you can tell the average party size of the foes, after 2 battles, just don't go above +2 for your own.
Can you reword this? Little confused. Thank you
He is playing on adaptive where you have to optimise your party size as much as possible. The bigger the party the more the enemies and they are at 1-2 level higher than you. Region locked is much more easier.
You play on easy mode buddy, try Adaptive on Extreme, you'll never outnumber the enemy :P on the contrary. I fight crews sometimes 15vs6 of mine, it is manageable with the right preparations.
Not off to a good start with a guide telling people the enemy troop size scales with your troop size. When the game has two modes
Does anyone actually play region locked? 😅 Wouldnt recommend
Why wouldn't you?
@@04AMofficialI do lol greatly enjoying it
I am. I think It's better cause on adaptive u can run 4-6 people all game long and never worry about food and money @@04AMofficial
@@04AMofficialI have been lol is open better 🤷♂️
