Half guard to a butterfly sweep series. Really great info and exceptional instruction. My only gripe is the camera angle was missing the majority of the butterfly and leg entanglement angle. I had to Suss out what was going on after the sweep was mid way in the sweep. I want to visit that place to sit in those hammocks. Looks like a peaceful place with great views.
That is exactly the point. You add in some butterfly competency to your half guard game and you can improve it. He literally describes in the video how it did just that for him going from brown to black.
There is an option to push his leg in front of the hook. If you shift the inside half-guard leg towards the leg that is looking to butterfly hook you can shift the opponents leg over the butterfly hook. I will post a video with a short tutorial showing the technique. Good question.
You just basically use your outside foot as a post. Step hard on the floor and use the lifting force to pull your partners legs with your inside leg, over your posting foot (which becomes your butterfly hook in the process)
Excellent instructor

Thanks. Looks great. What happens when you hip out but he follows you with his hips? Ie not allowing the room for your hook.

Cause he identify as a kid. That's why he was able to dominate local tournaments in 15 years old division ;)
