    Another excellent analysis Nick. The knee bend and the ball toss were the two elements that took me years and years (over 40 years) to get right. My knees would sometimes go in opposite direction and the ball would go everywhere and reach ridiculous heights. Then 4 weeks ago, I finally realized what I was doing wrong. Two things I was doing wrong. Using too much arm muscles when I brought the racquet up and back and I was moving my head and looking upward too early. So what I told myself was to look at a point on the net for as long as possible as I raised the left arm. When the arm reached 80-90% from vertical was when I would look up. When I did that, to my surprise, the knees naturally followed suit and went down in the same direction ,, the racquet went up and back naturally into position effortlessly and the ball was exactly where I wanted it.

    Thank you for this video. Nick❤. Serve is usually what most of us rec players lack the practice in.
    Good job

    How can I come to your lesson again and again? Listen, watch. Then try. You once said about studying the elements of the service that this is not a simple marathon, but with additional difficult obstacles in completing the distance.
    After your lectures, I couldn’t resist and reposted it on Facebook for my friends and strangers.
    With respect to your creativity!

    Haha I'm a double knee bender. Just filmed myself and saw this, I also don't bend backwards. Good to have found this video to get instructions on how to fix it. Thanks.

    Hello Nik, wondering if you think Sabalenka has adjusted the serve timing that you discussed in a video a couple of months ago?

      She is still serving with that hitch and mistiming the back foot pull up

    what about michael stich serve?

    • @IntuitiveTennis
      @IntuitiveTennis  Год назад

      Stich had what I call a corkscrew set up. Like ivanisevic, but the back foot pulled to the outside. Interestingly only the tip of the back foot dragged forward. On pin point serves in general knee bends tend to be in more natural positions

    Agassi would flare both knees. Especially the back knee would be facing towards the back fence. Not as extreme as your example but he was definitely doing that. Jeff Salzenstein does it too.

    My daughter still has that double knee bend, in Germany we call it "Hofknicks" (like bending to the aristocrat).
    I see so many female players do that, even at a respectable level.

    how about Agassi's bend?

    • @IntuitiveTennis

      How would start with both knees pointing backwards. then in the trophy the front knee would straighten to parallel to baseline and then he’d start leaning and the knees would straighten out. Very complex serve even though it’s looks simple.
