  • Mayonnaise, a commonly used condiment, deserves attention. Let's check out its first ingredient: corn oil seed oil, highly inflammatory; we will pass on this option. It's interesting how they try to use buzzwords like "gluten-free," "no trans fat," "low saturated fat," and "low cholesterol" to make it seem healthy. However, the presence of highly inflammatory seed oil negates these benefits. Now let's look at another option: Kirkland with its first ingredient being canola oil; I will pass on this one as well (no thank you). Again, they promote it like it's good, but it isn't. Lastly, consider Chosen Foods mayonnaise. Its first ingredient is avocado oil, a much better alternative, and the ingredients are organic. Although more expensive, choosing this option ensures that it won't damage your body. If you must use any mayo, opt for Chosen Foods version.

I started making my own mayonnaise at home, just a few ingredients that most people already have on hand and the taste is far superior than the poison from the stores

I now make my own mayo at home using either avocado or olive oil and I add a bit of the whey from yogurt to help extend its shelf life.

This product has a very thin consistency. If you use it to make mayo based salad spread like tuna salad or egg salad, you will have a very wet and runny salad that will not hold together well. It will soak the bread and try to escape the sandwich at every bite. The flavor is different than traditional mayo. There is an underlying taste of avocado rather than the neutral taste of traditional mayo. It is not unpleasant but it may affect the taste of your salad or sandwich so be aware of this. Personal I did not care for it, preferring mayo made with olive oil.
The debate over whether or not canola oil is good for you is definitely a mixed bag with some reliable sources saying it is good for you, with other sources saying it is not. Moderation is likely the best approach.

Those mayos made with olive oil still have seed oils. Also you must have gotten a bad batch because mine is super thick.
