Knutsford express motorcoach is pretty economical. You can get it from their Montego Bay/sangster terminal. Service to Negril. Currently leaves at 1:45pm So be sure to arrive with enough time I’d say 2 hours prior
Hi! Is it more cloudy during rainseason (August)? I don’t care about passing rain showers, what bothers me is when you don’t get alot of sun. Thankyou!
You re commended Charela Inn, Negril, I think I would like it. Do you know if there are possibilities to go für dinner around Charela Inn without car? Is there streetfood to find?
Hi! Yes it is possible, although not recommended to walk along the beach or road at night. It would probably be best to take a taxi and you can get them for quite cheap (less than $5). All the hotels around Charela have restaurants, but I must say Charelas has very good food, probably the best in the area around it. In terms of street food, Best in The West is right across the street from Charela and has great local street food like jerk chicken, curry goat and lobster.
The main thing to know is that Jamaica, whether you are in Montego Bay or smaller towns like Negril, is more of a loud party atmosphere than a quiet, relaxing one. Lot of noise whether it’s modern music, local politician wannabe on a blow horn, vendors barking at you selling weed, street traffic. Great water and beach but don’t go there to relax for very long.
So, tell me more about this bank? I am Canadian and heading to Negril in October, so I'll have to exchanged my CAN for USD before going, or so I thought? 🧐
Wise is fantastic, I use it every time I go abroad and have to use foreign currency! They always have better rates than any other bank or currency exchange that I've encountered (very close to the actual rates you'll find on Google). But I definitely would recommend bringing at least some cash because some businesses and most taxis, beach vendors, bars & restaurants only take cash! Hope this helps :)
@@ladonna2u742 It increasingly looks like my wife and I should head for Negril rather than anywhere else if we want to try a quiet relaxed first visit in Jamaica, including getting to know the country.
Great video. Knutsford bus from the airport is about $18. But your flight must arrive early. Usually leaves MoBay at 1:45
Thank you! We are travelling this December and have booked the westender inn! Great tips looks like you enjoyed!
Amazing! I'm sure you'll enjoy just as much as I did! It really is a special place :)

I looked into the WISE card. It seems like it would be very useful for other destinations, but they do not offer Jamaican currency conversion....

Absolutely you will pay more for resort transport instead of private and high mountain coffee is delicious.
Oh and you should always use JMD when paying.

Is this beach affected by sargasum seaweed problem that is going on the Caribbean?
Usually only after a storm
Not today Sat.Mar.09.2024
Where do people go who are over 60 for a quiet visit without crowds and noise? Is it in Negril, Ocho Rios or Montego Bay?
Negril! It’s about a 2 hour drive from the airport, so not many young tourist willing to make ride.

Definitely Negril! Montego Bay is actually quite a big city and lots of cruise ships dock near Ochos Rios
Couples Negril is perfect for quiet enjoyable trip. No kids and everyone seems to be 40+ years old. No lines for food, no crowd
@@calebhudson3669 Problem is Negril got hit bad by the hurricane!!
Negril is awesome, but the beach hawkers are relentless, and will pester you all day to buy their goods.
This is true! You have to be stern yet polite when you decline. And have lots of patience!
