    Great memories. Miss the tide and you had to drive up to Gloucester to get across. I was at school with a boy called Phil Jones from Chepstow whose uncle I believe was the last, or one of the last, captains. The only remaining Aust ferry is currently in Bristol docks (having spent many years in Galway Bay, Ireland). I believe there were plans to restore it. Thank you for posting this historic gem.
