Dear Peter, Thank you for the first 1-2-1. I need another session to learn about changing soil grown plants with a deep root system to shallow porous bonsai substrate without killing them. So far I have not killed a single plant by pruning, but have killed at least a dozen connifers costing around £20/- from the garden centre by trying to root prune and plant in shallow pots.
Aussie Dave here Peter, I could see you are a patient and calm man , I could see you wanted to jump in and take over but managed to show guidance 🤗. Well done to the doctor under your supervision. I also learnt a lot about jinn from this video.. great job. 😉🤗
Awesome outcome! 😇😍💚 the master and the apprentice have gathered their powers for creating a masterpiece. One of the best guidance, so far, from Herons. Keep it going!❣
Moin, well done! I had no clue how to deal with this tree! So congested and bushy! At the end, a wonderfull Bonsai came out and will be better and better in the future! Wow, the Doctor did a very good job, I have learned a lot! Thank you so much Dr. Ranjid and Peter Chan! Great!!!!
Such an amazing experience, and the knowledge and skill is tremendously great to see of the individuals who seek knowledge of the art of bonsai, I'm thankful to have seen this video, while observing, I could help noticing that the doctor must be experiencing similar effects from some nervous system disorder, I have recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and I'm having a particularly hard time with continuing to figure out what's next in my life, as a lot of my physical ability has been stripped away!!
@@peterchan3100 thanks so very much for your time and encouragement, I really appreciate it more than you'll ever know. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me. May you and your family stay blessed, I'm certainly thankful to see your videos, and tutorials 🙏, your staff are amazing, and I can relate to one particular person, who was a arborist, as I was in my background. Have a great day, look forward to watching and interacting with you in the future. Thanks for your time again.
One really has to see through the branches to find the tree and this very decisive man is actually taking it away without a doubt, unstoppeble! Loved watching!
🤯 seeing the lil 🌳 tree at first...this is a bad hair day! but to see the student a experience doctor and Peter the instructor experience and seeing the potential of the new look for the tree...was a beautiful 😍 transformation before your eyes! Well done ATWA! ( all the way around)
Great video peter. I would love to see more videos like this. That was not an easy tree by far to figure out . Takes time and thats what i love. I love watching videos from the start of brand new nursery stock. Thanks to u and the doc for the video. Hope to see more !
Excellent video. As the doctor says, you have to practice, you have to make decisions and act, that is the way to move forward. And he he has done very well, plus he has allowed us to see Peter say noooo do not cut. I have had a great time watching the video and it has helped me a lot. Thank you.
The good doc only need to breath 😁. The logic of problem solving of an IT engineer + bonsai technique exposures and Peter's passion for teaching sure did help. Glad to see the Doc smiling proud at the end 👍. Well done and thx for sharing Peter. Cheers.
Thank you for this video, I enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the shot of camera crew thumbs up when the camera turned around. 😄 It was so insightful seeing how the learning process works, I felt like I was there and pulling the bark 😁 and wow what a transformation.👏 I also couldn't see the wood through the trees. 😆 Thank you 😘
Hi Peter from Australia. You two did a great job. My main concern is; I noticed the retired Doctor's hands shaking. I hope it's stagefright, not something more detrimental to the good man's health. I only say this as my Father In - law is getting worse, and his stubborness is leading to the path of no return. I hope he is in good health, and you too mate. Cheers for another good tutorial. Since I found your channel I have worked on my specimens which have been neglected for about a decade. And they are growing; and look much better. Thank you.
Great demo. I think Peter meant the tree would look like a big tree grown in California or New York. Arizona tends to have more cacti due to the very hot climate. I have not seen pines in Arizona (of course I’m from the states and I’ve lived in Arizona). Regardless of that little point, I understood what he meant and enjoyed this video.
"Don't jump the Gun !".... excellent video and the Doctor is well on his way to understanding Conifers for Bonsai....We all have our personal favorites ours is Yamadori Bonsai and Yamadori Tanuki Bonsai . We just have so much natural material it's dumb to not take advantage of it. See the Doc thinks Conifers are difficult....I think Maples, Oaks and Elms are difficult....so it's all in the way you learn and how you are taught.
YT keeps me in a state of confusion about bonsai. Peter, could you do an episode explaining when you do what to a tree? I see people whack off the tops and then cut almost all the roots off all in fall. Then I see you do all this work on top and you say you can't cut the roots I thought you needed equal amounts of root and foliage to support each other. Local bonsai nursery says "only do one injury per year." At that rate, it's 2 years into a training pot. Another source says do no cutting at all in the fall. It's late fall here and I have a bunch of nursery material to work with, but no idea when to do anything. I'm afraid I'm about to miss an entire season because I can't pin down the basics. If you did this, maybe one episode for deciduous and one for conifers?
I would also like an awnser to this, kinda in the same situation having all these plants in late fall and reading not to do anything now, but then you see this I get confused.
I usually explain what I am doing and at what time of the year and why and also the aftercare needed. This of course will vary from country to country - but I will remember to mention these factors so that beginners dont get confused.
@@peterchan3100 Thanks Peter, but could you do a whole episode just on that. Part of the problem is there is never an explanation of what NOT to do and Why not. Maybe called "What To Do In the Fall (in Temperate Climates)" That way we could look it up for reference later. You could make one for each season. Channel content!
Ooof, I'm never having the guts and 'vision' to cut a tree down that much. I always fear it will die, so I'm most likely much to shy and carefull and never 'achieving' real styling.
Not a very informative video, and much lower quality of what Peter usually makes. Couldn't hear a word of what the good doctor said. You have to use a microphone for each person in the video.

Hahahaha So true!
Awe the student is shaking he is so nervous to make a mistake and get yelled at. Lol
Great work we all have to learn i would be nervous too!

The best teacher🙌love how you restrained yourself from jumping in😅and taking over….
Nice experience for the already experienced doc. Loved watching this!!👌👍
This is the first time I’ve ever heard Peter tell someone NOT to cut a branch lol 🤣

“Don’t remove too much”😀I was cringing when the doc was snipping😳😀
This man is very talented and determined. Loved watching this video 😁
It turned out really good!

Great videos, love seeing a Dr shake ans so scared..shows everyone can learn new things
Sangat menginspirasi Doctor👍, salam dari indonesia 🙏🙏
It takes "only" 7 years to become a doctor but 10-30years to become a bonsai master and evin a master learn new stuff every day
It takes a longer than that to be a doctor

I dont think i have the confidence or patience for bonsai, but its so nice to watch these videos and unwind.
I started growing my trees 15years ago but i still have a hard time cuting em to bonsai
Just start, you won't stop)))
I've started with one juniper a year ago, now i try to grow Palases pine from the seed)))

Wednesday Morning Bonsai Breakfast Club.
All the excuse I need not to head off to my home office to start work for half an hour 😄
That is a beautiful Yachtmaster!
Must say I love watching these instructional videos and in this case the tree was ruined.
Good job. Enjoyed
I can tell it is so hard for Peter not to grab clippers and jump in. Lol...
Another woderful teaching moment Mr. Chan, thank you. Turning a bushy tree into this gem was a joy to watch.
Great teaching video

Nice to see a 101 with a confident and attentive pupil 😁
Please show a video of a black dragon cryptomeria regular or bonsai thanks
espetacular trabalho , com acompanhamento do mestre , parabens
How many trees dose your house need to have for it to become a nursery?
All the trees
That turned out very nice great work. @Peter what number model in the felco range do you recommend?
No.2
@@peterchan3100 Thank you kindly
love your videos ..... just wondering if you have ever worked with a tintillo tree or a china doll tree for bonsai ?
Vers very nice ❤️❤️❤️
Peter, the title of this video should read "1-2-1 Yew Workshop with two doctors"...as far as we are concerned you are THE Doctor
Thank you - I nearly took up medicine but did not do biology in school - so didn't pursue it.

Peter: Don't cut it.

Menurut saya sebaiknya pembesaran batang bawah dulu, setelah itu kt lakukan perantingan.

simulates age with the weathered branches

Hey Peter, I would love to see a collaboration or interview with him: ruclips.net/user/BonsaiReleaf 😍
This one does not listen very well🤔
Oh no... the outcome of that poor tree is pretty sad...
That "poor tree" will have more care and attention given to it than 99% of trees out there.
The English have become quite tanned in recent years.
Please no racist comments - we in the UK are a multi-cultural society. And so proud of that.
So true Peter it was a great video with the 2 of you.
i feel like he didn't necessarily want jin on this tree and peter forced him to do it :(
it's a disaster indeed
He can just cut them off
