Upper coast is still 15". 15-20", none keep over 20 and 3 bag limit is good. Its anticdotal but in 20 years of fishing regularly I've seen the quality and quantity decline in specks. With millions of licenses issued annually and the water being more accessible and increased industry, they do need protection.
See I would love to keep trout around either 16” to 20” and keep it a 3 fish limit. The smaller ones are good eaters in my opinion but trout is good in general. I’d rather keep the smaller ones and have the opportunity to catch bigger trout in the future, you know trophies. I released a good amount of 18” to 24” last year and this year so far and I’m good with doing my part in conservation. I agree there are a lot more anglers on the water now a days so we do need to do are part to help perfect them.
About, how deep are you fishing that chicken? After watching your videos (i just subscribed like a week ago) ive went to the jerk shads and started wade fishing more. Salt strong and few other videos say you should use in in 1-3ft of water. What are your thoughts?
Well I appreciate the follow brotha and at most 4ft. We normally wade in about waist deep water and if needed I’ll cast out to deeper water if that’s where the fish are holding. The thing with soft plastics is they are such a versatile bait that you can fish them deeper if needed. You may have to adjust your jig head weight to get it down deeper and faster to the bottom. The majority of the time we are catching our trout in 3-4’ of water and knee deep at times. I hope this helps out and feel free to ask if you have anymore questions have a good one.
@texaswadefisherman thank you, brotha. I really appreciate the information. I'll keep liking the videos because they are very educational and fun to watch.
@saltyfishing1305 I’m glad that I could help man. I appreciate that brotha, helps me out a lot on the channel and glad you enjoy the vids. Hit me up anytime man!
I use to go fishing with my grandfather when I was a kid. He would get drunk until he couldn't walk and let me drive the boat. He was also known to eat minnows for good luck and he smoked marijuana
So as of right now Isaac Kwiggler doesn't make these anymore but I heard that they are supposed to at some point. If I happen to see them on the website I'll do my best to reach out to you to let you know man. But it's one of my favorite colors to throw in the ball tail.
No sir Jason doesn't have a website setup but you can call him or text him anytime. In my opinion they are the same if not better. The rod I'm fishing with in this video is the RAINSHADOW IMMORTAL blank and it's one of my favorites so far. Great back bone for those heavier reds and a nice quick fast tip for soft plastics. When that rod loads up you got plenty of backbone to drive that hook in the fish. He got in some new blanks that I need to go check out and get another rod built. If your interested give him a shout and see if he can't show you the blanks he's got so you can see for yourself. He does some great work. Thank you sir I appreciate it and I'll keep on putting out more video's.
No sir I'm from La Vernia but my parents have a place in Aransas Pass so I'm down there all the time. It's very possible, heck if you see me out there come on by and say hi man. So I just got off the phone with Jason and he said Waterloo does build off of RAINSHADOW blanks and other's as well. He called me and said he got your message and will be call you back shortly.
I’m with you 15-23 and a 10 fish limit 👍 Y’all (SPORTSMEN) keep on releasing everything you catch. Tear it up but I want fish to eat! With the price of gas, boat registration, fishing licenses, trailer tags, motels it’s not worth it for 3 fish!
And I agree with you to me it's not about keeping as much as I can but I will at times keep my limit of spec's if we happen to have family over to enjoy some fresh caught fish for the day. For me it's the time on the water and enjoying what beautiful bay system we have and I'm beyond blessed to be able to get down there and fish as much as I can. I appreciate all of your comments.
@@ETuss713 I like to eat trout and I only get to the coast 3-4 times a years so it’s not a meat haul. It’s just not worth it for me spend $300.00 for three or six trout depending on how many days I get to spend fishing.. Oh and why don’t YOU take up golf ? Makes about as much sense.

Does Jason Hodge have a website? Also, how do the rods compare to Waterloo rods? Great videos, keep em up.

@@texaswadefisherman I'm out of Nixon. Parents have a place in Rockport, but I've been fishing AP for about 20+ years.
Oh nice man I work out in Gillett so I go to Nixon all the time for lunch. Very nice you can't beat that man.

It's not about a meat haul. With that mentality, go buy it at the grocery store.
I try to do my part in conservation but definitely keep fish when I need to bc who doesn't love fresh caught fish to eat.

When you put it like that it totally makes sense man definitely keep what you can when your there.
