Build the most efficient intergalactic factory in space simulation strategy
game Dyson Sphere Program! Harness the power of stars, collect resources, plan and design production lines and develop your interstellar factory from a small space workshop to a galaxy-wide industrial empire
Combining Factorio and Satisfactory on a Galactic scale!
ABOUT THE GAME
Dyson Sphere Program is a sci-fi simulation game with space, adventure,
exploration and factory automation elements where you have to build your
own galactic industrial empire from scratch
In the distant future, the power of science and technology has ushered a new age to the human race. Space and time have become irrelevant thanks
to virtual reality. A new kind of supercomputer has been developed - a machine which superior artificial intelligence and computing capability will
push humanity even further. There is only one problem: there isn’t enough
energy in the whole planet to feed this machine.
You are a space engineer in charge of a project launched by the space alliance COSMO, tasked with a massive undertaking: constructing a Dyson
Sphere, a megastructure that would orbit around a star, harnessing all its
power and energy. Only a few decades ago it was considered a hypothetical, impossible invention - but now it’s in your hands… if you can manage to develop this space workshop in some galactic backwater into a galaxy-wide industrial production empire!
ABOUT EARLY ACCESS
While the core mechanics of Dyson Sphere Program are ready, the game still can grow and evolve a lot - and Early Access is just the perfect place for it to reach its true potential. We believe that by letting players experience the main content of Dyson Sphere Program and actively interacting with them to collect their feedback will allow us to improve the game and make it much better than it would be without this Early Access stage. Our plans are for this EA stage to be about 1 year long. But that is not written in stone
KEY FEATURES

"Now witness the capability of this fully-operational space station"
That's no moon. It's a space station.
I can't like this, sorry, 69 is good
Rocket Production: Position 2, missed sorter on the Deut fuel line (nearest to constructors).
Thank God someone else noticed
The launching silos don't have to "see" the dyson sphere to launch the rockets, so you don't have to build them on the poles, they could be anywhere on the planet. I'd save the pole for the railguns and ray receivers. Also the silos have a sorter slot in the front, so you could've just rotated them 180 degrees and feed one from the front, and then they would daisy chain.
i dont put my receivers in poles, just feed them well with lenses and put they in the planets i don't have to save realstate for other aplications.. actually most my poles i draw a cote of arms for each of my factory that, in pixelated radial pixelart with "faked" alien letterings they became something far more interesting, because i just don't do to much railgun, in long therm pure nodes are a beast in energi generation, so my sails are food for my rockets lols
I only found your vids like a week ago. I was searching for good content on this game and after viewing like a dozen different channels I came to yours. I must say, your content is SO MUCH better than all the other channels playing this game. Its exactly what i was looking for! I love your dedication, commentary, symmetry, and all your little tips and tricks you give / use. I hope you get lots more views and subscribers, you totally deserve more!
Thank you and welcome. A lot of new people have fortunately found my channel through DSP, so there will be lots more of that coming :)
Well. Neon signs seen from Space. The future is here!
But a totally ingenious way to use those glowy cubes to find things. That takes thinking outside the box to the next level. :-)
Something to remember for when I will play.
@@querela92 I'm definitely incorporating it into my playstyle. Without a doubt.
man labels really really really need to be a thing in this game. i spend so much time tryin to find things an half the time im standing on them in the end
Hi Nilaus, you missed like a tiny little bit of contreet at 30:51-30:52 :) abbove your mech on the right side 2 maby 3 tiles :)
You can click in the Dyson Sphere Editor on the Nodes to see how many Rockets it needs to build a Node, Frame or Sail
@Trizzle Hizzle yea, sails are needed later for the complete sphere
I absolutely love watching that interplanetary machine gun. Loved it already in your starting system, but this is just a step above.
Dyson swarm goes *brrrrrrrrrt* :D
started making my labels lazily. just remove the concrete. not as bright, but it works. still like the glowy ones better though, too much work. fyi on a lava planet it is kind of lit up though. never wouldve though of it myself. thanks man
I’ve really been enjoying the series so far. Coupled with the daily upload and longer episodes, it’s amazing. And all the streams on twitch as well (which I watch on VOD). But just keep in mind to take care of yourself as well.
Thank you. I cannot imagine a better way to take care of myself, than to play an amazing game so much ;)
@@Nilaus I think the important part is that its not just getting to play the game, having to "perform" the voice over, do the recording, do the **editing**, takes a lot of work, and daily uploads every single day can be stressful, let alone the streaming on top. Just respecting the amount of work you put in for such a refined product, but also that you're human and that much work takes a toll after a while.
Nilaus is a robot, when he likes something, he doesn't need caring. He is just programmed to deliver awesomeness for us, simple people.
This play Theorie is really top notch. Love the “industrialization” of this planet really. The concept is very nice and your logistic system scales do well. Awesome job
Lol rocket assembler is all like: "no no wait I'm not done.. no, waaaiiitt." What missing one sorter can do.
That would make me super paranoid. I wpuld be checking over everything I did! lol
Got my swarm split into 3 sections, same radius with 30/60, 60/90, and 90/120, looks pretty good from a planets surface and kind of fun to fly around inside.
Love that the swarms and sphere are something you can go and actually visit.
Love it!
The man's got a whole section on his planet where he can get some strange. We usually just call that the hood dude. 😉
The implications of a solar system wide Central Hub is so cool.
Daaaamn, that’s so cool! The effort to make it look nice is totally appreciated ;)
It's awesome how far you've come. I've only played a few hours and I'm still figuring thing out. Your videos have been a lot of help. I've been watching your videos every day and I keep learning new things and discovering how awesome this game is. I hope to get to your level sooner rather than later so I can stop sucking and starting over. I just launched my stream and only got a few episodes but I keep mentioning you in them, I hope it helps bring more people to you as watching you is very entertaining and educational.
Love the glowing cubes for text!
Your labels are awesome. My favorite part of this! 👍
So much a fan of this and your playstyle. playing myself every available hour and watching these videos while in on the train. keep going! patreon it is!
20:05 "if you're not automating, you're not thinking". Was that the ultimate sick burn, Nilaus style?
as a programmer, this is my curse, I will spend everything, like 10h to automate 1min task, even if I will do it only 10 times, if its more than 1 time its already too much, automate it.
Best Dyson S P player out there!!
Im so glad you like this game, love to see you design bases
seems like this is the one youtuber i find the fastest when they have a new vid
like actually i somehow consistently randomly find these videos a few minutes or a hour after they are posted or binge them while they are being posted
its always a delight
Dude, the scale of your rocket launching facility is really something to look at.
Thanks for the hard work man, you are doing the best DSP content on youtube.
Loving the series. They came out in the morning where I’m at, so they’ve been the first thing I watch before I start my day.
I’m at just over 100 hours into my game and just learned today you can put items onto belts!
Definitely going to use your labels.
Labeling areas with the cubes is an insane idea, in an awesome way. That’s my biggest problem now looping around the planet several times trying to find some thing and then not even remembering where I was to begin with.
this game is really awesome. today's episode was a great experience. enjoyed a lot. waiting for the next one designing the Dyson Spere. oh! this is exciting...
I haven't thought about putting items on belts by clicking on them like that. Thanks for the tip! Also great idea writing text with the science cubes. I learn alot from your videos!
everything looks awsome well done cant waight for the next episode
The way of labelling the planet like that is brilliant, take my sub sir.
Thanks for sharing the video loving this game
22:30 - second assembler from the right is missing the sorter for Deuterium Fuel.
Brilliant idea to label your builds. Love it. 😊
Nice, awesome episode 👍🏻
wow, so creative! using different cubes and belts to show the function area! so that can find out the material easily.
I'm really enjoying this playthrough, I wish I could've hit the like button more.
Yes!! Finally some Dyson Sphere is happening!
Awesome let's play!! Thanks for sharing :)
The names are smart solution to a problem I hope they'll fix. And I like raw and finished.
Thank you for making this series!
@nilaus, you missed an inserter on your rocket build.
Thank you as always Nilaus! 10 Minutes in I wanna say: maybe you try INPUT and OUTPUT? - short, correct and sexy ?? No??
Nilaus: So I just used conveyor belts and matrix cubes to write important keywords for easy item management
me: _planet sized "i'm gay", haha_
Pro tip, if you rotate every other silo, you can get them close enough to daisy-chain them together with inserters
Great episode! Algorithm get it going
I literally said this in your stream. Place down conveyors or foundations to ID mark a location for an easier way to find things you've lost.
another awesome vid in time for my morning wake up!
Hexagon is the bestagon. Your node layout changes the efficiency so you want to make sure it's as efficient a layout as possible.
As for the dyson sphere shape, try to do a spiral ball pattern. Havent seen that pattern yet. Also, theres a video out here by jd-plays on sphere building with good tips. The sphere pulls sails from the swarm, so you want it close enough yo the shell for them to last the journey. Also, if you dismantle a section of the sphere, the sections will turn into additional sails that will either be consumed by other parts of the unbuilt sphere, or float out to join the swarm.
did you know you can pause time so while in the maker its easier to plan(its the run game checkmark) i dont know if there is a way to change the speed of rotation but while you are limited at what angles you can build early on for the sphere perhaps you could make a series of rings that line up and have gaps between each other allowing for total light coverage with as little material as possible used
There's no occlusion between layers so you don't need to worry about that
"Nilaus can you start the Sphere desing in your home solar system?
Nilaus: nah, Lets build a new one
you should start using tier 3 assemblers, they do require quantum chips though.
I've actually set it up for construction already, but just haven't started using them since I then have to start dividing by 1.5 for ratios :(
@@Nilaus I have spent hours optimizing my builds form tier 2 to tier 3. Loved every moment of it. Such a great game.
@@Nilaus you could use an online calculator to help out. There’s some forks of factorio calculators
@@Nilaus At least my wrist takes more damage from clicking 1.5 times more than my brain takes from divisions. Unfortunately I can not build several hundreds of assemblers due to hand problem and my Dyson sphere (or actually icosahedron) is very sparse after 80 hours of playing. I hope that devs will add that sorter copying in actual program soon. Until that it is nice to see your proper sized and well thought builds.
Epic, keep it up man!
In the dyson sphere planning window, I think the difference between the two line types is that the first one is a straight beam from one node to the next, and the second is an arc.
By that, I mean I think if you only use the first one you'd end up with a dyson sphere that looks like a many sided dice with flat faces, while using the second line would make the dyson sphere actually spherical and curved.
This is just guessing though, I haven't started making spheres yet to test.
You're right.
would like to tumbs up more than once. great idea!
Nilaus, if you want to be more space efficient with your smelters and assemblers, you can do - power pole - 4x assembler/smelter - power pole. rather than 3x between poles.
Loving this lets play.
This was a real good episode. I'm looking forward to the next one too. The Dyson Sphere and Swarm editors have really been confusing me so having the Master of Factorio teach my monkey brain a thing or two is gonna be good.
These planets remind me of a shirt my cousin had.
PAVE THE PLANET.
ONE WORLD, ONE GIANT SLAB OF ASPHALT.
quickly get to putting shell parts on your dyson sphere if you want to save your solar sails.
and clicking on nodes in the dyson sphere planner will give you stats on how many more components you need for any given node.
drink every time he says "that one"
If you play around with your swarm orbit you can actually get most if not all of your railguns to shoot all the time. I had about 30 all around the poll that were firing constantly. The one problem I found tho is it only worked for one half of my planet's year but this is fixed by making an identical orbit but with an opposite longitude of AN
OMG this game is getting more and more beautifuller :D
I simply wanna see more of it and many more planets like the one you visited with water and trees...
I wonder what else is out there in the Galaxy...
Looking forwards @nilaus
This rules, thanks so much for all your efforts!
Lovely!
My voice sometimes gives out at the end of an episode as well.
Yeah this is definitely cool!
You're crazy fussy with your belts. Scratch that, building in general. I love things tidy but you take it to a whole new level. Lol
0:00 Nice *IMPORT* sign, mate. 😆😆😆
labels look great 😁
Pro tip: if you build a solar sail orbit outside you planetary orbit (doesn't need many actual sails) then it functions like a relay; your ray receivers will act like they can see the whole Dyson sphere at all times.
(Got this from the awesome "Dyson sphere design and construction" guide on steam by Almaravarion)
Dude Nilaus, glad to watch this video, because I cant even find my starting factory anymore. Too crowded. Btw check out multiplayer by player, name: Nebula there are github for it and discord.
Yooooooo ngl that looks sick
You should make your sphere way smaller, it will generate the same amount of power but only take like 1/10 the resources
it will generate a lot less power as well
in the sphere editor the geodesic is a point to point linear line while the other1 follows the actual curve of the sphere
and on the Grids 1 is squares the other is triangles
you should make your logo just like the signs you made but in another planet or something and call the planet "planet Nilaus"
I want to piggyback on this comment, but instead of making the logo on a planet, why not make it in the dyson sphere?!
Once you have warp capability, I think it is more efficent to craft enough (I think it was green science) to get a look at the complete star system an than exploit all the rare ressources, which gives you a huge boost in productivity even if it takes a while to set things up, you will make up for the time spend afterwards, since you do not have so many things to upscale, it even allows you to dismantle some production chains and unclutter your starting world
Man, I'm trying to catch up to you while following along. Just got yellow science up and running. Converting one of my planets to a dedicated smelting farm really side tracked me. Its super nice to have everything instantly available via drones but it did take forever.
im in the same boat. try not to compare yourself to nilaus because this is literally his job and he has way more time to spend on it than us. ive done all the research i can with yellow but i badly need to scale up basically all my basic materials. im getting to the point where its too strained when i try to build newer things now so thats gonna take up my next few play sessions but it will pay off. im sick of constantly fixing my original sphagetti build haha i just need to suck it up and start from scratch so i can continue moving forward faster
insted of saying inbound and outbound
use Input and output
megstructures are so awesome
I had a though about the inbound and outbound conundrum, how about always using it in terms of inbound and outbound to the logistics network. So inbound would be items requested from the logistics network that then go into processing machines, and outbound are the items coming out of the processing machine which are then made available to the logistics network.
I suppose this would be mostly the same context as inbound and outbound to the processing machines, but it least it then also makes sense in the more global context of the logistics network.
Now I also want to shoot at a blue sun!
Thanks for the effort you put into these videos! I like your work.
Do the "Soil Piles" transfer between planets? or are they planet specific?
They are a universal respurce so you can harvest on 1 planet and use on anothet
@@Nilaus Cool, thanks for the info and reply. :):)
Also........compared to you...........I am WAY under pre-paired to even BEGIN building a shpere.
launch silos don't need line of sight to the sun, only the rail guns do
made the same.. but insted of sails im full node, 38+ vert-rocket-silos and production on site to provide enough rockets do keep them working.. that O star will become a wOw star
Inbound/outbound is fine. You can default it to facility, for example. So disregard tower, machines take priority.
The old good importer
Using cubes for text is such a Nilaus move.
The shooty shooty is definitely increasing now!
Long vid but I gonna watch this till the end
Edit: wacht it
in the dyson construction menu you can stop the spinning by clicking on the button in the top right
When thinking about the weird grid used for the planets, i wonder why they didn´t go with hexagons.. those can be used evenly and also give one degree of freedom for things like belts
i find ratios the same way but tend to break my brain in the process
Hi Nilaus, absolutely loving your series.
I've just started my own playthrough but wanted to ask you (and anyone watching) if there were any keys you had remapped that made more sense or more comfortable to use?
I very rarely remap keys in games, so no
Hello, first of all I want to say that I love this game and love your walkthrough.
I also wanted to make a suggestion which might help on using less entries on the logistic stations.
Why don't you try to unite all the belts of the finished product in a single one and than put it in the logistic station.
I saw that you pull materials from the station and pull the finished product back to station. But if you also make the belt for fished product from the station on the oposit side you can put anoter belt to collect all finishef product form all the other belts and than put it in the logistic station.
throughput and belt elavation. 30 item/sec is often the limitation and I do not like using elavated belt which is necessary if I need to merge belts together. Ultimately it doesn't improve anything as far as I can tell.
@@Nilaus no need for elevation. I will try to send you a photo with the construct that I propose but I am at the start of the game so I will use different buildings. This is onlt to give you more entry points in the logistic center.
Yoo Nilaus ! Nice building, but you're gonna run out of rockets. 2nd constructor for them doesn't have all the sorters in place. Remember, efficiency.
you should make the letters spell out "Like & Subscribe" :D
or be a real grand master youtuber and do it on the dyson sphere :D hah
You can Check the box in the top right while in the sphere Editor to pause the game and it stops the spinning
Help make sure Nilaus sees
