129 East 70th Street. An Aesthetic And Historic Homestead.
Located on the Upper East Side's most prestigious and sought-after blocks, this four-bedroom and four-and-a-half-bathroom homestead is rich in history yet perfectly attuned to a modern living
This venerable 19-foot-wide home rises four stories with an iconic redbrick façade with Italianate and Ruskinian Gothic details, arched windows, and a Gothic bay window topped with a Juliet balcony. The home features five wood-burning fireplaces, a gated front garden, a conservatory, and a spacious backyard with stone pavers, lush plantings, and ivy-strewn fencing.
On the first level is a welcoming parlor with gallery-style walls and a wood-burning fireplace with its original wood-carved surround. Further in is a central staircase with an oculus, and beyond that is a stately library with built-in shelves and wall niches, impeccable woodwork, and a fireplace. The library has access to a double-height conservatory with a regal staircase that leads to the lower levels and the backyard.
The garden level has a separate entrance and contains a tranquil office, powder room, eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, and laundry room with a utility sink, storage, and a side-by-side washer/dryer. The dining room has a fireplace and access to the conservatory, while the kitchen is adorned with an eat-in island, marble and stainless steel countertops, a marble backsplash, high-end stainless steel appliances, and a dumb-waiter that connects to every level of the home.
All four bedrooms sit on the second and third levels. The primary suite occupies the entire second level. It features a fireplace sleeping chamber, ample closet space, walk-through couples' en-suite bathrooms, and a private garden-facing study that can also be used as a guest bedroom. The remaining bedrooms offer great flexibility and have full en-suite bathrooms.
Situated in Lenox Hill, 129 East 70th Street is less than three blocks from Central Park and is moments from the many high-end dining and shopping along Madison Avenue. It is close to Museum Mile, Central Park Zoo, and The Mall. Nearby subway lines include the 6 and Q.

That French-windowed glass-ceiling atrium is gorgeous, and the beautiful wooden staircase does nothing but add to the atrium's elegance, thus creating poetry in slow motion
East 70th St., between Park Ave. and Lexington Ave. is one of the best blocks in all of NYC. Many of the other homes are wider (with more square footage), like the former Mellon double townhouse next door, but this is an excellent home in a prime location. The solarium addition to the back was a great idea!
This might be the most beautiful house I have ever seen!
The home directly next to it to the east is also insaaaaane. One of the most imposing and lux on the street. PLZ RYAN !!!
Elegant indeed! Whoever restored this beautiful home did an incredible job!! Ps. Imagine what it's like being in that space over the breakfast room when it rains....dreamy! 😍😍
5:25 At first glance, I thought that was a boudoir painting of Fred Flintstone above the bed 😂
That would be awesome though 😂
I love that round window opening by the stairs! Beautiful home!
Wow, what a GORGEOUS home! Makes me want to move to NYC
Just a little matter of price ! He didn't mention that,, but I bet it's in the high $30mill's at a minimum, so completely out of range for most ordinary humans - but hey we can all make plans for that magical day when we win the lottery ! By the time I bought homes in all the fabulous places I'd love to own one, there would not be enough months in the year to live in them all - chateau in France, Ski lodge in Switzerland, Lakeside manse in Italy, ranch in Colorado - way too much choice for those with money ! Sigh !
$13,900,000.00 apparently - so I was way off !
Elegantly produced video - loved the drama and charm of Serhant. Great music too!
So incredibly elegant, love the millwork.
That man looks like a mix between Ryan seacrest and Andy cohen 😂😂😂😂
Kudos to craftsman you who diligently restored this home. Problem is, these bozo real estate agents make more money than the guy flawlessly constructing that hardwood floor.
I love how you do your walk through in these exquisite homes. It's not too fast or too slow. The music is perfectly synced for the era of the home. You are a whole vibe!
Asking price $13,900,000.00. It's absolutely gorgeous, romantic, exquisite beautiful townhouse, and plus the fabulous house next door. AWWW.😘❤
Classic Ryan walkthrough. Well done 👏 Pace, running time, and edit was flawless. 👌
It may not appear understandable at first, yet, when an Aestheticist, seeing someone one he appreciates for his intelligence and the quality of his work, is precisely that person, who is listing such a gem is a real pleasure. I, myself, am putting a house on the market at that same time. It is a simple home, but one of the two properties my Mother resided at: an 18th century farm, dated to 1779, in the Southwest region of France, in that lovely Dordogne that the British fought for, during the war of hundred years, and from which the produce garnished the table of the last king of France. Thank You for your great work!
Love the old texture of this place💙
TIFFANY YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL ADORABLE SEDUCTIVE RAVISHING SENSUAL SEXY CAPTIVATING AND PASSIONATE MARRY ME 💗
Is it possible to fall in love with a house? Because I believe I am.
Beautiful, classy, but welcoming too.
Simply Exquisite !
This is a Classic home. Thanks for showing.
LOVE this PROPERTY ❤😊
Finally a real livable home finished with taste, not for oligarchs or sultans, I own one very similar a little older and bigger, not inside balcony though, for a fraction of a fraction of the cost in a province of northern Italy.
One wonders if the tasteful furnishings are included.
With some modernization and an updated chefs kitchen this is really nice.
I’d like to see Nashville interior design take a stab at this
The family had 121 E.70 for 20 years. A beautiful block that's little changed since. It's a gorgeous street. 121 Is Georgian and broader with a less choppy layout.
how do you know?
@@cre8tion26 I lived in the house. I know.
I know its a house not food but one word ... delicious!
That place is absolutely gorgeous. 😍😍😍 LOVE
Stunner. Is that the Mellon place next door?
(Wowza.)
I know the street. Absolute perfection
Yup, that's it right next door! It's the nicest house on the block IMO.
Wow its like a tardis
I listened and listened to the ever-fascinating voice!
Next door to Bunny Mellon's old townhouse.
Oh my god it would be like living in an Edith Wharton novel! 😮 So beautiful.
wow, what a great house; yep i can see me living there if i was married to a rich american tycoon with a young family; love your enthusiasm and the way you presented the house: thanks for taking me to a new vibex
For it being the oldest home in the Historical District... it's really been gutted of most of the original historical details.
Lovely. I wish I could live there.
The music really fits 🎶
great job on this tour, Ryan
Totally beautiful .. interesting how no comments on the kitchen. but it is Manhattan. Maybe it will sell for 40 million or so.. but I'm probably way off
Dodged the kitchen for sure.
Beautiful but as someone from the UK, i can’t get my head around the taxes. Even if you bought this all cash, you’d still have to pay almost $100k a year for the right to live in it due to the taxes. To put it into context, the same house, with the same value in Knightsbright or Belgravia (London) would be about $6k a year taxes.
This place is very close to my university, Hunter College 😍
If ever there was a place you could just imagine living in this is the one (ok, so I need to win the lottery first)
beautiful presentation!
Stunning
❤ stunning
Agree, it’s (almost) flawless…. One style criticism, way too many picture frames on the walls. Beautiful art hung throughout would be so much better. All those frames are just way too busy.
Add to cart! 🛒😂
Added
it's a shame this presentation style seams more about you than the property, would like to see more cutaways shots of the home, less of you, and i lost count how many times you said i and me, also don't tell people what they are looking for its condescending, also less talking a picture tells a thousand words.
🤣
He sells Homes, not cars. You need drama to sell a house.
Just enough to give you a good idea but not overdone. I think he did a great job.
These real estate sales people use TONS of adjectives. To try and make it sound like it’s THE best property in the world! In the universe! They are like actors when they try and sell you the property. I usually laugh at it. It’s called melodrama! 😂
Ack I think he was “in the moment” ..
Wow 😮
Wow ❤
Beautiful
Stunning💙
Beautiful home ❤
Yep. Nice.
Excellent presentation 👏 👏! I prefer modern apartments but your style plus the music really makes me seriously consider townhouse life. Well done!
Elegant!
Super elegant 😍😍😍😍😍
Love it.
There is no formal living room?
I like this one LOL! 😂❤
I wonder whether it comes with a full compliment of servants or whether those must be purchased separately LOL.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I want the white one next door.
@ 5:31 and 5:36 one of the photos/artwork hung on the wall have changed🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was so distracted by your handsome face that I was barely able to focus on the home.
If he came with the house, I'd buy it without looking at it. Lmao
Please speak up loud for the many homeless. Social Housing can be great solution. Thank you.
EXQUISITE! 😍
when is million dollar listings coming back, if ever?
The interior has all the charm of a Holiday Inn Express!
I would have loved to see more of the actual property because it is beautiful and not hear so much of the dramatic commentary from Ryan.
Jesus. You forgot tome to mention hiring a staff of 59 to dust your plants . ..
Thanks for not having the time. The less you self promote the better the videos are
I would not be able to afford rent much less own 😂😂😂
It's next door to the bunny Mellon house
If you hadn't blared the French horns, we could have heard how noisy or quiet the backyard is.
did I miss the prize?
All just for $13 million?
We get it Ryan, you have big feet, (and we all know what that means folks) but those massive white nurse shoes are BEYOND distracting... what were you thinking?
Great location between Park and Lexington on E 70th Street....but at less than 20 feet width, it's too narrow. And a very small elevator, not really for most humans. ..more so for laundry etc.
What happened his hair?
What is a half bath? A shower?
without a garage, it all comes to nothing...
The salesman is too chatty, and I don’t give a shit what he thinks. He should just present the stuff and talk less.
I can’t get pass his annoying comments, to finish the tour.
Too Hollywood. A silly and poorly thought out presentation. This is not a film set; it is a house to be sold. Vulgar. A shame. A fabulous house by the way…..🇬🇧
This realtor and his choices are distracting . Lost interest in video.
lol. i dont liked. 😂😂
First, the elevator looks to be the size of a coffin for a short person. Second, this is an adult man, obviously wealthy, but can't buy clothing large enough to fit him ... he looks ridiculous.
ugly fireplace
What a drama queen
Man!
This dude over-kills it with all that crappy talk!!
Most of properties he shows are so average and that’s why he has to yell out details that pretty much are meaningless!!!
A property should sell itself without all that salesman talk!! Dude tries so hard is almost embarrassing!! 😖
