Seeing the F-16 and Mig-29 was awesome. Seeing them both being observed and followed by a UFO is even more awesomer!!! That shot of the F-26 breaking away from the Mig landing reminds me of the Mako shark vid's chasing boats!
Fantastic! The amount of resources that go into producing this “experience” for the pilot & spectator is remarkable. The dedication & skill of the pilots’, the resultant footage & realism ( esp in slow-mo ) is astounding. The next challenge surely must be to merge R.C s, drones & laser tag to establish true victors. A tournament replicating the air campaign of a war: dog fights for “air superiority”, ground support or “bombing” to reach the final objective.🤞

We typically fly late afternoon and most of the members have gone home by then. OCMA Club has 300+ members and the lot is full most days so don't feel too bad. You are welcome to visit if you ever make it to the west coast.

You can actually see the f-16s airframe out performing the mig-29s,it seems much snappier, they were built to sustain 9 g turns. The f-16 is such a nice airframe that around the time they first came around a artist saw a drawing of one and was convinced it was a drawing by another artist. It turns out its airframe ended up looking like that straight due to science lol. One of the nicest most succesful planes.
you cant see that in model planes at all. you could put in CF rods all through a foam aircraft and make it turn on a dime...you can setup control throws and manipulate the CoG ..lots of things to make an RC plane snappy. you can tune the gyro to be more or less sensitive, add more thrust...i could go on but basically you cant 'tell' inherent aerodynamics from looking at it especially in an RC plane. Even in real life you can only see it in telemetry data and even then its only evident when you plot the flight curve across the full flight regime.

Hey Mates, I went to your build site to see what's involved for your FPV setup. Firstly, seeing as you're set up for the 80mm F-16, do you think this will translate to the HSD 105mm F-16? I know the canopy dimensions will be different but electronically, it seems like it should transfer ok. Also, is this setup universal to different radios? Does the radio have to have specific features? I already have an Aura 8 but it's not hooked up yet. There's another component to work around as most of the servo controlling is designated to the MFC. Thanks for your thoughts.
Hey Will. Super interested at what you are doing with the HSD F-16. As long as the radio has two extra channels and a trainer port the headtracker should work in wired PPM mode. The P/T pilot should work also, scale will be a bit off but not by much. Hit me up on the kombuster at gmail or message on the design-pad project.

I'm setting up my 70mm f-16 for FPV right now, I'm running analog will the canopy ruin the visibility? I know Horizon hobby did it with no canopy

Great flying and it almost seems like the drones are outperforming the jets.
Power to weight for a purpose built film quadcopter is huge
