High Plains Raceway - C8 Z06 1'57 lap

- First time at High Plains Raceway for an afternoon lapping day, car is stock with street alignment. Had a blast learning this sweet track and this incredible car. Didn't really have any expectations on lap time going in, was pretty confident I could go sub-2, was happy to be in the 57s - 58s with room to improve if I'm ever back in Denver!

That's it! My next car is gonna be a C8! Great video, had to get my magnifying glass out to see the speed but I did see you hit 140 mph. Loved the sound! Wonder how a base model would sound on the track cause I can't afford a Z06
@@stevenkaskel3469 thank you! I already love the C8 platform, I have spent time behind a GT3 - it was my dream car - and I would take a C8 all day. It's a deeper soundtrack and I have a theory that the shifts are more aggressive on the base and they softened it a bit for more longevity with the Z06. Also the power delivery of the z06 makes it a pretty terrible street car, if I was looking for a street car I would have been pretty upset. It's excellent on the track but gutless below 4.5k rpm - I'm going to make a video talking more about that someday. Good luck with your search when the time comes.
I imagine you have pdr you should have spliced some of that footage in as well imo. Beautiful car! Congrats!
I didn't get PDR sorry! I will look into an OBD solution to get some data overlay.

@@JeremysGeatches I'll take it, but let me explain: I think the PDR camera is garbage and for the money I can get a really nice data acquisition setup. And one less camera and crap built into the car.
I often don't have time to download footage and edit, I can upload GoPro footage to my phone wirelessly on the drive back and have it uploaded by the time I'm home. I need to find a way to get the telemetry added with least amount of editing needed.
@@Grip_Addict makes sense. They should have made it so pdr footage and data goes to the cloud or cellphone app automagically.
Great video! Thank you for sharing. How did you mount the camera? It performs as if it is handheld by another person as it dips to the right in corners and zooms in slightly to the dash. It seems you've done this before. Great job!
It's a GoPro helmet side mount! So it's moving with the helmet.
