Was great fun visiting Gav at RCkicks and I definitely learnt a lot! Check his channel out here: ruclips.net/channel/UCFYn5R3_gDW3NIKrszJwDUg Are you a Tamiya/Vintage Fan? If you could have any Vintage/Rare RC Car which would you go for and why? See you on the next one! 😎👍
Great collaboration. Gavin is an amazing person and has guided me and my small channel. I have also gained an RC friend on the other side of the world 😊
It's fantastic to see two of my favorite RC channels doing a little collaboration.!! I really enjoyed this.! I've been into RC for a good while now & I've got around 60 RCs from most manufacturers, but I always avoided Tamiya... I had a prejudiced opinion from childhood that they weren't very good, they look good but don't drive well & constantly break.. That might've been true 35 years ago but it's certainly not true now.!!! Thanks to watching channels like Gavs I decided to give them a go about 18 months a go, I fancied something different so got a TT-01E MAN truck & I was REALLY impressed with it (after upgrading the shocks & centre driveshaft) 😉.! I've been running it 3S brushless & the diffs/running gear are barely worn.! I've used it a lot, I've been pretty rough with it & I've never broken a part on it.!! I've got an M-06, M-05 & an XV-01 Pro now.! The XV-01 is sublime, out of my 1/10 on road/rally cars it's by far the best driving out of them.! I absolutely love it.!!! It seems to be just as durable as the others, I'm running it on a 3S brushless system too.! Thanks guys, stay safe out there & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍
Our pleasure! Shame more UK youtubers arent up to getting involved... Lucky to even get a reply to emails sometimes haha! Its very competitive.. even when it doesn't have to be. We can all be friends.. or can we.. HAHA!!! Gav is a top bloke and overall nice fella!
I’m glad you folks got together to chat! Surprisingly, both your channel and RCkicks channel were some of the first channels that really got me into the hobby.
Thanks👍 really enjoyed watching this while building my Henry J Gasser 😄 Have always wanted a lunchbox even if just for a shelf queen as I was born 77' I have a grasshopper, 2 big arrma's, 3 axials and a couple of wltoys 👍
10:20 The Toyota was the Group B Celica, i still have mine. The body on that one is fine though. What i'm not seeing on channels is the Nissan 300ZX IMSA GTO which i also have among other vintage Tamiya's from my younger days. Is it THAT rare? 21:31 Everyone knows the Lunch Box but no one ever mentions the Midnight Pumpkin, why? It's the same chassis, just a different body. I also think Arrma got the inspiration for the Outcast from that.
2 of my favourite RUclipsrs.🤗 Great to see that collaboration. You'll be joining in on the carpet racing with Gavin, KT, and the rest next then, Ricky? 😎👍🏻
Much appreciated Rob! Who knows mate I didn’t get invited to the last one but maybe in the future haha. Don’t bother me lol I’m here and not going anywhere. I’ve reached out to multiple big UK rc RUclipsrs and got ignored which is disrespectful in my book but is what it is.. happy to crack on my own 😏
I've only bought like four or five of my old car's the hobbies very generous from people and most of my cars were given to me and I appreciate every single one of them.
IMO, building an RC car gives a child a special feeling of accomplishment and develops many technical skills and the confidence to repair, modify and upgrade the car. I find that kids that are given an RTR don't seem to value the car for long and when things break or need tuning they give up on the hobby easily. I know many men that don't have the confidence to help their kid build a car because they can barely use a screwdriver.
Great video, amazing in fact! Gavin is amazing but I do blame him for my RC addiction which started during the first Lockdown back in 2020! I'm living the dream now that I had as a kid back in the late 80s early 90s!!
There is a candy green edition again of the grasshopper and it's actually cheaper than the original that they still sell. Tower hobbies in u.s. sells it for $93.
My first was a Kyosho Pegasus that I got used in '86, then got a Lunch Box van new in '90. Love seeing the old rigs. That being said, remember what an all wheel drive car cost then without figuring in inflation. Now you can get a cheap Chinese car that's leaps and bounds ahead in performance and reliability for $100. But I have thought about getting another Lunch Box just for nostalgia. 🙂 Also the radio back then was as much as the car. 😳
BeyondRc, great seeing the collaboration, I'm round the corner from you and would love to meet up with a few cars for a bash session, nice big grass area behind Asda is where I give me cars a blast
Yeah definitely, there is a group of us who visit galley wood common and Rayne quite often you should come along some time. We will be out with the cars all the time in the summer. if interested drop me your number over email beyondrc1@gmail.com. Cheers

Oooooo….. 👍🏻rc friend👍🏻 😂
Hello from America! This is what we do....promote one another and share the love of this amazing hobby. You earned yourself a sub. Well done!
It’s very competitive here in the UK not many RUclipsrs want to work together unfortunately. Don’t know why it is this way 😂
@@beyondRC it’s the same way here in the states. But we the minority shall overcome it! 😂🦨
Great collaboration. Gavin is an amazing person and has guided me and my small channel. I have also gained an RC friend on the other side of the world 😊
Have to agree! Gavin is not only a super nice guy but incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all areas of RC! Legend 😎👍

Another rare R/C is the MRC Nitro Thunder King, from what i remember there were under 1200 nitro conversion kits made.
Gavin is a great guy!
Sure is!
