Thanks, I learned a few things here again, nice job.
One thing I found is that if you change the start iteration on the denoiser, it also helps retain more of the detail. I try to set it not to go off until right before the image is done, like if I have it set to run for 500 iterations, then I might set the denoiser to start about 450 or so.

    • @ParmyBaddhan
      @ParmyBaddhan  4 года назад +2

Thanks for sharing your tip. When I was doing the testing for this tutorial I did put the start iteration between 500-800 and the denoiser never kicked in since the test renders were done before it got to that point. So I didn't mention that in the video.

As beginners we all struggle with blurry renders. My first render was blurry and I wondered why it didn't look like the promo images in the Daz3D shop. It soon turns out that there is more to Daz Studio than just hitting the blue render button. The pixel filter radius along with the other render settings will improve your renders allowing you to create renders you will be proud of.

    Hi Parmy,
I'm currently struggling with two little details regarding accesories.
I found an interesting freebie bracelet in obj format on the web and I wonder how I can turn it into a daz functional wearable product that I can load and fits automatically on the figure's wrist.
The second one is how i may change the place where an actual accesory fits on the figures. I mean, some product has some ring accesory that fits on the ring finger when you load it, how to change the finger the ring is placed to the index finger, for example. Or the middle finger of the other hand, an so on...
If you know how to do that and it suits to make a turorial about that would be very handy.
Thanks anyway and keep going with that great work.

Parmy, my Man! Long time no see.
Gotta point out ('cuz thas what I do) that when you compare versions of the same pic as you have done (especially when the differences are so subtle) you can see them easier if they're overlayed, not side by side. Put them all in one PS document on their own layers/ groups & show/ hide the variations to better see the effect of yr changes.
I also gotta complain ('cuz I do that, too) that ya missed probably the most important piece of info about this topic: what effect do the different filters/ radii/ denoiser have on render time? You have a pretty sweet system & this may not be a big issue for you, but I for one am currently on a "less than ideal" system (as I'm sure many others are) & must weigh my options & consider quality vs. time. Even a few seconds difference for you could translate to minutes or hours for others w/ weaker rigs.
Other than that, good job as always.
Well... almost always. There was that one vid that we can leave unmentioned ;)

@@ParmyBaddhan Thanks, I recently started using post denoiser and I sharpens the image way faster than when it was off.
I did two close up renders, one with 4000 max sample and post denoiser off, and another one with post denoiser on.
The results were the same but the first one took an hour to complete, and the second was already looking very clear and sharp as the first one within 5mins of the 1hr render time it had.
It's a big time saver for me, and I can keep on creating like 10 renders within 30 without having to wait longer, with post denoiser on, once the render reaches 5mins it's already looking very good😊.

When it comes to clean and crisp renders, the pixel filter radius, render image size, render quality, max samples and lighting all play their part.
When you say "messy smudgy", it sounds like the post denoiser is kicking in too early, change the post denoiser iterations to 800 so the crispness of the render is retained.

You can use the Daz to unreal bridge (this is a free download, search for it in the Daz3D shop) to transfer from Daz Studio into unreal. I don't believe the transfer is 100% accurate with all assets so you may have to do some work in unreal. As for animation I believe cinema4d is probably the best for animation.

If so what is the biggest possible radius that can be used to effectively remove a small amount of salt/white noise with the denoiser?

Even with RUclips's horrible "conversion" there is clearly a big difference between Gaussian Mitchell and Lanczos
That aside, Denoisiers are a thing that one needs to be very careful about. the "Fireflies" are becoming a thing of the past anyway as internal "denoisiers" are being applied in most of the latest iterations of rendering software.
But people tend to overuse denoise. And in so doing end up with an overly "smooth" image.
In my opinion Denoise very sparingly, and use other things like DOF and post-work if need be.

Thanks for your question. There is no one female or male character that is better than others. Focus on the following when looking for characters to use:-
      Use HD characters where possible
Look at skin quality, does the skin tone have different tones?
Are the eyes that come with the character of good quality? e.g. realistic
Does this character fit what you are trying to create? e.g. portrait render
I combine the morphs of different female characters to create my custom female characters for my graphic novel Tiger Dragon: The Rebirth. I use the skins and eyes from different female characters and change the skin tone using the iray shader for my female characters.

They seem to be better under a variety of light conditions. I got from the video that you picked the characters you used because they had the best textures of what you owned. If there are no "best" then it wouldnt matter what you picked for a demo. Ive seen some Ad renders that were great only to find out the character sucked. Ive also seen some Ad renders that I though were just ok to find out the character was great. Sure it may be me or the lighting but, IMO some characters take way less work to make them look good.

If you feel this video was of no value to you then I can only apologise and do better next time.
The default settings that come with Daz Studio are not the ideal settings. For example when you buy a new car, the car comes with the default factory settings. The driver seat might be too close or too far back. The mirrors need to be adjusted so you can see around your car. You as the driver of the car have to customise the default settings to your individual preferences. This is exactly the same process with Daz Studio.
If you want high quality artwork that stands out and gets noticed then these settings inside Daz Studio are another tool you can use enhance your renders for free.

@@imtiazhussain6684 Thanks for your comment. I do get some comments saying that my videos are too long. However I put as much information as possible in the videos so you can make an informed decision. I understand that people want answers to their questions, but answers alone are no good without context. Also I do not see myself as a Daz Studio guru as I don't know everything about Daz Studio. This channel is about the commitment to Mastery for your craft. This means failing and learning from your failures all in the pursuit of Mastery so that you can reach your goal.

Thanks for the tip. I think I need a better monitor, this monitor doesn't cut it when it comes to the finer details.
