    I have been practicing for a year and now wondering if I have the violin in the right place on my shoulder

    • @Violinspiration
      @Violinspiration  3 года назад +2

      That is a good question Lesley. Have you watched videos about how to hold the violin? This can give you a good idea. Also watching my video and looking if the way you hold it is similar to how I hold it. If you want a violin teacher to have a look at your hold, you can also become a member of Julia's Violin Academy and send in your video, then we can check it for you!

    Good explanation madam. All your videos are wonderful. One doubt . For 3rd and 5th position spacing between fingers are same or for 5th position little less than 3rd position. Also if possible can you post video in fingering position for 7th position in the similar manner like 3 and 5th position. It will be very much useful for violinist

    5th position is equivalent to 3rd finger in 3rd position.

    • @Violinspiration
      @Violinspiration  3 года назад

      Correct, Amanda, you would place your first finger on the position you mentioned.

    • @AmandaViolinGirl
      @AmandaViolinGirl 3 года назад

      @@Violinspiration I want to ask why are we taught these positions first? The 4th position is exactly the same note as the string on the lower string so we should know that one easier?
