- Needed to get away from the city and found the perfect chance for a catch and cook. This time a wild trout with beautiful orange meat. Besides cooking the fresh fish, I got a chance to try a few different fishing techniques. How I caught the fish was with a size 8 hook, 3 split shots and a night crawler as bait.

I used butter, salt, pepper, mesquite seasoning and that's it for the fish. It was delicious! Best pan fried fish I've ever ate!

Hey matts, i think the reason why the trout was just so good is because the water up there is super clean. Like personally i hate fish period especially fish from here in the bay area. I went to seattle a few years ago and the water is so clean up there. I had a fish taco with fresh cod and it was amazing. Thats my explanation of it

Thumbs up Matt. Keep the fishing spots a secret, and nothing like the taste of High Serra fish. Caught a brown trout once and tried to release it but it popped up a minute later 20 feet away from me, so I snagged him before a bird snatched him up. All I can say is Brown Trout is Delicious! Nice Vid!!!
I stumbled on this video while searching for catch n cook trout and to get some ideas how to cook trout since we are planning to go fish n camp tomorrow in Utah. Man, so far, of all the video I watched before u, u made me laugh with ur butter part! And the part u said "back in the days this what I remember what my dad taught me how to fish" and that touched me and got little emotional bcoz I'm always take my kids out to outdoor adventures hoping that one day, they too will remember the stuff we did and the stuff I taught them how!!!
