Now I am definitely team Herb but she was the one that was off beat. She is a lot of the times actually && her team always try to match her. With upmost respect; excellent music from both bands during a bonus game. The music from both was fresh & unexpected, knowing both students & faculty are prolly exhausted lol. That being said, these are two of the best hbcu bands on the planet. I finally get that both bands are loyal to tradition no matter what, yet both can use more student innovation. Jsu does not have to follow Su lead in slow/fast/neutral music, & have earned to play anime songs all 5th, if they choose to in their stadium. Jsu sound is movie theater like in consistency the last 5 years. Su will never lose their power, elite aura, & fanbase but come off comfortable in their brand/legacy. I love that both bands stick to what aint broke, but I'm constructive in saying both have also earned to take risks after years of excellence. Proud of both programs knowing that collegiate band is a business first, but also a privilege via funding for hbcu anything these days. Excellent championship game to both bands & football teams, inspired by so many ready to join both!🙏🏾🏆

I don’t want to hear nobody saying jsu ran southern out the stadium because the same thing happened at Bookbox 2023, Jsu played about 5-6 songs edged out southern and then left.. with that being said this is a fifth quarter and not a zero so musicality and song selection is key, that’s why I got southern up by 4-1 this battle, imo southern played better music and ballads which to me is the whole point of a fifth.. good job to Jsu though yall sounded really good

These battles sre always judge based on bias. I give it a tie. Both had their bright spots and both had their mistakes. Tempo was a slight issue on both sides. Song selection from both was clutch.
Yeah I was watching some old videos and realized they literally only did all together or 1by1. I like the creativity in the formations but I wish they could change the call mid song like Stingettes sometimes do.

Well, well, well...as usual, nothing negative to say on this end. It's just a shame just as you start to get into the show...it has to end. Seems like there never is enough time. On the real all band heads and hbcu band lovers...if we just take out the time to just listen people...just listen, you will find there is nothing like the sound of these two hbcu iconic marching bands. It doesn't get any better than this. It is even more fun and enjoyable minus all the negativity and judgement. In my personal opinion, the Boom and the Jukebox play similarly in their respective styles. People ride SU about being a power band and label them as just "loud". You know good and damn well when these two bands recruit they look for musicians who can bring it. You can't bring it on a high school level here player. You better understand once you get to this level at these two schools, it's time to put on the big boy pants and handle your business. Forget all that dumb sh_t. If you don't know what it means to be apart of these two organizations, as well as , all the other well known hbcu marching bands, then this just isn't for you. Don't fool yourself. This is real. Man JSU sounds like a struggling high school band. That Brownstone was absolute ass. Geesh. It was cold out there but to be that much off rhythm with 2 weeks to practice is terrible.
