Four foot alligator crosses Florida lake in my back yard.

Head about 10" long, body about as big around as a milk jug, surprisingly long tail, stalked duck and eggs under my deck before moving on.

Assume that all fresh water in Florida contains alligators. Also remember, it's the ones you DON'T see that are dangerous.

I may winter in Florida this year. Need to remember this. It does look like a floating stick

IF you see them. They ARE there, even if you don't see them. Just remember...fresh water = alligators. Salt water = sharks and crocodiles. That's where we go swimming!
