- In episode 5 of #NYtalk, we delve into a topic that's close to everyone's heart: money! Two local influencers - Mayiduo and Charlene @doubleupsg - join hosts Yen Leng and Rui En to chat about the definition of wealth and how much money it takes to lead a comfortable life.
Mayiduo believes that money should be earned rather than saved, so he is not in favour of saving. Charlene, on the other hand, understands the importance of savings due to having experienced rainy days.
Additionally, would you rather be a giver or a taker, and which one brings us more wealth, happiness, and satisfaction? Yen Leng says the premise is to protect oneself, while Rui En emphasizes the importance of giving.

mayiduo is hidden dragon crouching tiger.
Standard 50k - 100k to be safe for emergency fund for a family of 3 or 4 and Single can be around 20k for emergency fund. This is my personal opinion.
Conservatively, 12 to 18 mths of monthly expenditure
In singapore, we need to stay healthy in order for us to be able to work to afford house, insurance and kids. after having a kid, I realised the insurance premium for my kid is higher than my premium, and the insured amount is lesser than what i have. Having savings wouldn't help much also. No insurance, all saving will be gone. With a good health, we will be able to work and pay for the basic needs.

I think there is lots of space for improvement for a podcast. The coordination n wavelength. Most importantly the questions. I think the key takeaway was just Insights of how much do u think its required for a comfortable life. That's it after watching so long. I think if it's going to be a one way communication mainly to just question the guest there is no need to have 2 person. Becuz that's more messy n could clash sometimes. While if it's a group discussion sure 4pax seems like a good number. But it does not seems so here where its just mainly answered by the guest n it skips over to the next. Hum..
