Decathlon widely spread in Europe. Here in EU they sell Babolat, Wilson, Head and everything else you need for tennis. Even Asics shoes Court FF and Gel Resolution 8. So basically they are everywhere in Europe.
Decathlon is very known here in Europe (i'm from Belgium). Great store if you want to start playing a new sport and get some beginner supplies. Unfortunately some of the smaller, more sport-specific stores haven't been able to compete with them and had to go out of business.
This channel started to showup in my recommendations and i was kinda expecting the guy promoting certain brands and marketable stuff but found nothing of that, rips or praises brands left and right, also no concern of competition or sales, seems super honest and transparent on top of knowledgeable, definitely my favorite part of the whole channel 👌

their tennis balls perfom good regarding bounce,durability,control but not so good with feel and confort and power.i tried them.they are like bricks at first so if u are a spin player with a rigid racquet that dont matter for u but for a feel player i dont think they wil like bricks

I am currently working at Decathlon in Turkey and I had a great chance to try most of our products. Every single product is the most affordable and middle-high quality product in the market. Shoes and balls are very durable. Also I am very happy with its grips and strings. For two years now I am using Artengo but nothing else. BUT only they should increase the racquet variaty. They only have 100 inch head sized racquets and nothing else.

In the UK, they sell Wilson, Head and Babolat rackets (even up to top of the range), ASICS, Nike and Adidas shoes plus Head and Babolat balls, from memory. Clothing is nearly all own brand. They sell string but don’t string rackets in my store any more. Suspect they don’t have the staff to string any more.
Their online has bigger selection of quality name brand shoes over the stores although used to have Nike Vapor X instore.
Yes I got the Babolat Pure Drive latest version from Decathlon and some clothes, socks, US open balls etc, even a Babolat racket bag. Didn't see any stringing service in the UK stores though which is a shame and would be useful.
Decathlon brick and mortar stores here in Brazil used to sell Wilson and Babolat racquets (I bought my Blade 98 CV on clearence there). I think now you can still find Wilson on their website here. The same goes for Adidas and Nike clothes, they stopped selling them favoring their own brands.
Edit: I actually use their stringing service. Pretty cheap and never had any problems.
In the UK, Decathlon often have branded gear too. Overall it’s pretty good value IMO.
I got my racquet restrung at Decathlon once (only a few stores do it though) - they had RPM Blast (along with other
Babolat, Luxilon & Head ones) and it seemed to be done well enough. Decent turnaround time too.
They also seemed to have a handful of branded balls too - got multipacks of some Head balls before.
Though I think recently they’ve had less branded stuff when I’ve gone during the past 6-8 months or so? Maybe they’re focusing on their own label more?
But kudos for your willingness to review other stores/gear 👍🏼

It seems you visited a range 1 store, wich are smaller than the regular ones. You´ve seen a brief representation of what they have in bigger stores, and as you very well said, it is posible to find all the products they sell through their website. They have everything to practise the sport you can name, from begginers to experts, they are going their way, but it is not a store for proffesionals or elite players, though they have great products.
Thanks fot sharing your experience, because I was very curious about how a Decathlon store would like in the US as I work for them here in Europe.

I strung my racquet in decathlon store in Poland and I also took demo racquet so I could play during stringing. You can take demo racquet for few days for free! It took few days to strung my Babolat but I didn’t care too much about it cuz I had that demo racquet anyway. Stringing took a bit longer than they told me... but they didn’t charge me at all for stringing!

Have about 4-5 stores in Bombay alone. Ordered a bunch of stuff for them during the Lockdown. Decent quality. I had ordered a Small size racquet for 3 year old - those were only available at Decathlon.

I just checked the Decathlon website to see if they've opened up any more stores in the US since Harry filmed this video a year ago. I was shocked to see that not only have they not opened any more retail stores in the US, but they've actually closed the few they did have. No more Decathlon stores in the US 😭

I checked out their shoes a few months back, looked good online for the price, but up close you could see the difference. Even the lady working there said not to get them and she also plays tennis.
yea not tennis shoes...but they got really good running shoes from "KALENJI", im using them on hard courts. They are really good imo, chill, light, comfy

At this point I just need to find these tennis ball manufacturers and order a few thousand directly from them.
920 are ATP tournaments balls, the 930 are ITF tournaments balls, in my own tests, 60 cans of each and counting they are better than the actual Roland Garros dunlop ball or last year Wilson AO ball which is crap for the asked price. ATP tour and Babolat RG were very good indeed but little more expensive. I suppose the feeling depends of each persons tennis level.

I'm quite surprised by the small size of the tennis department, which is below what we find in France, there is not even the TR960 Precision here, and no other brands. Maybe Emeryville has a bigger department.
In any case, I'm glad to see you beeing laudatory about Decathlon, even though you run your own business. Artengo desserves to be credible to advanced players, they did a great job with their latest raquets, the TR990 Pro, the TR960 Precision and... the brand new TR930 Spin. I don't think they'll kill Wilson, Head or Babolat, but everyone should give them a try before judging.

In the UK the sell babolat rackets as well as artengo.
Only issue I have with these kinds of bags is that the backpack straps shouldn’t be on the same side as the opening. It’s silly to have to move the straps out of the way every time you want to get into the bag. I like the zippers and the insulated drink compartment though.
there's a couple decathlons where I live in Malaysia and am curious about how their tennis strings perform - not many reviews online. Have only tried their multifilament strings and thought they were quite good for the price

Decathlon is very popular in Italy. You can find some interestring and cheap stuff (socks, clothes...) but they can not give you any tips or helps buying racquetts or shoes or strings. They have just the basic without any competence.
Artengo balls are not bad...i have tried with other balls as a Soderling and Dunlop, and the quality and durability Artengo is almost the same
The Soderling balls are made in Thailand too if I remember correctly, could be from the same factory just different spec and branding

i can recommend the KALENJI running shoes, im using them on hot weather. They are verry compfy and light. Good on hard courts, and buy the mid priced ones. Usually lasts for 2 years usage

I have been to Decathalon quite a few times......sporting equipments are good enough + cloths are also durable but will not recommend their shoes as you will surely be compromising with quality & comfort.
Decathlon is amazing, differently check it out, great products for the family, we have been going there for many years in Europe

They are definitely aimed more at recreational players than perhaps club players and enthusiasts, but none the worse for that and you could definitely use their gear all the way up to high level.
i am french too, Decathlon is a french brand store but here we have any kind of tennis Rakuet brands, Babolat Wilson etc, same for shoes, strings... choice is very poor in your decathlon store...

It's a ridiculous reaction to cover them. Tennis Spin does not want to sell Prince, because Prince has focused its marketing through the giant TennisWarehouse. With good judgment, this man has refused to buy more Prince.
I don't understand the reason for this documentary. The objective of this large retailer is to eat the small specialized vendors.
That is not like in Europe.
The main difference that I see between the US stores and the Eropa stores is that the latter sell other brands.
It turns out that in Spain they sell Wilson, Head, Babolat, etc. in Decathlon stores and on top of that they sell it cheaper than small merchants.
In the USA they do not dare to do it, because if they do, the small merchants will not buy more product from Wilson, Head or Babolat.
Well-known brands go to great lengths to sponsor tennis players and coaches, and therefore the price goes up. They all follow the same line, but they sell their "white label" product alongside well-known brands, making it appear that it is the same, but cheaper.
At the commercial level, It's considered correct, but at the tennis promotion level it is disastrous, since the Decathlon staff does not have extensive knowledge of tennis, as this man does. In my city, there are already 5 decathlon and only two small tennis stores, which if it weren't for Paddle tennis, would have disappeared.
One of the things they do in Decathlon, which is going to affect this man, is that they don't charge for stringing. They only charge what the string costs (Babolat Adrenaline 10$). Since they have bored staff in the store, waiting for a customer to come and ask, they take advantage of the time stringing, and so they get the labor for free. The problem is that this employee probably comes from working at Zara or H&M and only has a slight knowledge of tennis. Conclusion, in many cases the work and advice, leaves much to be desired.

I bought many things from them and never had any problem. Everything I bought were very good quality. That's weird you are saying that what did you use and decided they made poor quality things?
On everything in that store they have the real cheap bargain variant. The quality of those are poor, but if you choose the one step above that it's still dirt cheap and similar quality to expensive brands. I use a lot from them. And if you have a fast growing kid.. they grow out stuff faster than the blink of an eye
