Aww, the kitty has its little corner on the wall and in the toilet. I love it when house design takes animals into consideration. 😻😻 too bad it wasn't mentioned in the video.
A lot of these videos are quite short and honestly, if they did a 20-min long piece on each home, I wouldn't be the slightest bit bored. These places are fascinating, it would be nice to know even more more about them.
@@LeRoi715 Yes, we obviously see the cat. However, and I'm sure I'm not alone, I'm using these videos because I will be designing my new small home soon and it's nice to hear about how they accommodated their pet's needs into their house.
I’d say for Paris this is quite a large apartment. It is impressive how they have maximised privacy, light and space for a ground floor space. If I can ever renovate my apartment, I’d contact them for sure!
Very clever use of space! The awkward little L-branch of the apartment has been well-designed. As the daughter gets older the mezzanine could become a loft bed, with desk underneath, and the toilet in the hall is great for families because then kids/guests don't have to go through the master bedroom in the middle of the night. So often in tiny homes and small apartments the layout works while the child is still a baby and nobody cares about privacy, but with a design like this it could actually adapt as the child grows up.
I don't see a toilet in the master bathroom. All 3 of them will have to use the only toilet in the hall and all 3 of them will have to bathe in the master bathroom
@@kriskan86 so you shower in one and poop in the other? So much work. It would’ve been best to just make one full bathroom in the bedroom but you could access the toilet by a door in the living room and still have it separated from the main bathroom. If they had to creat a powder room in the hallway I can only imagine the work with pipes and all to reach that location.
@@Lucas-vd2gx Maybe it would be better to "kill" the bathtube of the master suite in the future, thus making room for a proper toilet in its place. I say "in the future" because at the present (baby duaghter phase) the bathtube is actually needed. As the time passes (and the family needs in terms of useful spaces change), I reckon this could be the less expensive/costy transformation to execute - without changing the blueprint as it already suits them as it is. The advantage of having the proper plumbing in the suite from the start when it comes to the suggested change is a real asset (not to be discarded). Just a thought.
Gorgeous! The use of different textures, and clever use of space and light is so lovely. My only change would be to make the bathroom homier ( stylistically its quite sterile).
I think this apartment is very charming. I love how they made the bedroom for their daughter with the multifunctional bed furniture. And I’m also so happy that they made sure their cat feels like part of the family too
Simply gorgeous. I've watched quite a few "Never Too Small" videos and this project is one of my favorites. Whereas I can appreciate the thought and creativity shown by architects of other projects, Ophélie and Edouard created a stunning home that comes across luxurious, yet really livable. Often, other projects are too minimalist for me. I also appreciate their dynamic, how they translated their preferences into a clever cohesive plan. I came away with quite a few practical ideas and points of inspiration.
I love the very fact that they could marry up their respective visions with one another... in no less than an osmosis. I applaud this couple for being able to compromise until a common view reaches an even higher ground.
There are such different cultural views when it comes to bathrooms! For Americans, it seems so weird to separate the toilet from the bathing area but it actually works so much better for space purposes here and also for functionality when you have two areas to brush teeth, get ready, and guests don't have to come into the bedroom to use the toilet.
This home feels so warm and cozy 😍 I really like how they found a balance between the desire for clean lines and clutter. Also, that flower-shaped lamp is gorgeous!
A lovely design. I especially like the fact that they made provision for their daughter’s changing needs as she grows up. By the time she goes to school it would probably be better to give her a bed in the loft and use the space underneath for a desk, chair and something extra comfy to sit on (like maybe two bean bags for when a friend comes over). The fact that they have the extra toilet and hand basin on her side is very clever too!! They should be able to live here very comfortably for a long time 💞
There is only one toilet. This is France. As such, the "bathroom" is for bathing only and does not have a toilet. She will have to walk through her parents' bedroom to take a shower. I can't see that being feasible/desirable when she becomes a pre-teen.
@@Nyx773I'm not seeing the problem with having to use her parents bathroom to shower? Even for places that have 2 toilets, having 1 shower is completely normal and I'm not seeing much difference between having the main bathroom connected to the living room vs the parents bedroom in such a small apartment that doesn't have enclosed walls.
Hello From Manila Philippines! I also live in a small space! Thanks to your Channel- I have gotten many ideas on how to improve my space! Kudos to your team!
The forward thinking design of the nursery so it grows with their daughter is impressive. I imagine by the age of 12 she’ll be demanding a door constraining the space, but the skylight and mezzanine would keep it a livably cozy kid/tween/teenager’s room. Parisian apartments showcased on this channel tend to blow my mind. As do the homes designed by their owners. This video did not disappoint!
Its all about layout of the appartment and this large airy square gave them plenty of space to work with. I have found squarish spaces are always better if place is small . Loved the ambiance ,light and decor and lovedddd the nursery ❤️❤️❤️✔️✔️✔️
This one of my favorites on your channel so far!! I’ve binged a ton of them, and although I’m always impressed by the innovative ways a lot of the architects save space and create multifunctional pieces, I feel a lot of the designs lack some practicality (especially for more than 1-2 people) and homeyness. This apartment, however, is gorgeous, cozy, and suitable for not only the architect couple, but a growing daughter as well. 12/10🙌
really one of the most aesthetically pleasing apartments i've seen here. the complete well thought out usage of every space is superb. the designers implemented all the important elements for a tiny space. the amount of light is incredible and i love their style. i just love this one!
It's a wonderful space. I love many of the apartments showcased on the channel but I like this where the furniture is all out... No unfolding of chairs or sliding out of dining tables which are clever but cumbersome.
@@mameh4243 I am curious about this, is it because street level is noisier? In North America, main floor apartments are just as expensive as higher levels ( except the very top floors which are expensive due to the view).
@@rosiekapun207 I think that's a question of light, safety and privacy. A groundfloor appartement tends to be dark; if it is situated at the begining of the courtyard, a lot of people pass by the windows and it is very accessible to burglars.
The cat has a built-in toilet to create the illusion of a bigger space 😸. No kidding, the pet details deserved being mentioned as well! FANTASTIC video. I struggle to make my spaces practical. What they have done is clever, neat, homely, bright, simply AMAZING.
This is definitely one of my favorites. Great neighborhood that is close to everything, but not overrun with tourists. Having 600sf and a second sleeping room for a child or guests is wonderful. And, all the conveniences you might find in a bigger kitchen!
This apartment is so beautiful and well planned. It oozes elements of what a home should be, space utilized perfectly. The most beautiful dweller is their baby. Many happy memories will be made in that home.
Very nice to see the owners! I think they designed the space well with forward thinking to the needs of the future. I love how the space also reflects the natural ways each owner is. They married the needs and characteristics of each person, whilst making the space inviting and liveable.

This place has space for books, reading and a cat. My only question is when can I move in? Loved that this featured a family as shows small spaces aren't just for single and childfree couples.
Probably the best I have seen so far!! Everything works so well. They really had a large space to work with and an amazing layout -- sometimes a good layout does the trick.
Absolutely LOVE this apartment! Truly inspirational. Love how they integrated the existing stone into the kitchen shelves/splash back. The only area I’m not too convinced about is the nursery, but I’m sure their daughter will love it in the future
Agree. One would need snow goggles when walking into that bathroom as the white is so dazzling. Also add grey to the colour list as well because most homes seem to lack colour nowadays.
Beautiful place, I love how the bench backs up into the sofa, defining living/dining room separation. Their storage design is also very nice. The kitchen is so attractive; it looks like a buffet dining room furniture. So well thought out, it is quite successful in functionality for a family of three and their cat.
