I have used my mobility aid for a few weeks now and people come up and randomly talk to me for some reason like they are trying to befriend me. But when I don’t use it, people just ignore me it’s weird
I do get a bit more attention with it, but i also get more attention when my hair is pink, I think its just one of those things... for some reason people like to make conversation with people who "look unusual"
Same! But for me, it's mostly people wanting to make sure I'm okay because I'm a young person at college using an aid. Sometimes it's super awkward but I try to be polite and remember it is just them trying to be kind.
Being disabled myself you should not be treated any differently from able bodied people! I have had people say God made you disabled for a reason to help other people! At a blink of an eye you can suddenly be disabled! I have been deaf for nearly 30 yrs but around 6 weeks ago I became profoundly deaf! I am hoping the lastest NHS hearing aids coming later this month will help! You use a wheelchair because you need it not for the fun of it! We will ask for help if we need it! You are very attractive & maybe people stare for that reason not because your in a wheelchair! I was bullied at school! They should use disabled actors! It's like some films have a deaf character but they are not deaf in real life! On a lighter note I love your room plus you look very pretty as usual! I knew there was something different about you no glasses! You look cool in them! Stay safe & hope your finding wheelchair life easier! 💜💜💜
Well done! Btw would you be open to trying on the phrase “using a wheelchair “ rather than “being in a wheelchair “? It sounds imho more empowering. I use a wheelchair and can’t walk at all. But I think of it as a tool. Like a knife and fork. Or social media (which you do so much better than I do!)
Hey! Thank you very much for the new video, your content is very inspiring! I would like to know your opinion on one issue, if you have a minute. I have a couple severe mental illnesses (autism, bpd, depression), migraine headaches, PCOS, IBS and a very low energy level. Can i call myself a spoonie, if my health problems are not only physical? And can I call myself disabled, given that I am not legally registered as one, but have been unable to work, study or socialize in recent years? How do you generally feel about mentally ill people in the chronically ill community? wish you all the best :)
heyy ^^ can u pls help me i think that i have that i have spend alot of time reading and watching videos about it and if i really think about it i have the symptoms too >:( ...i dont really know who i should talk too about it im afraid that my perents and my psychiatrist would not take me seriously and i dont know how to start the convo.. I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety a few years ago have no idea if it just my depression getting really shitty or if its actually cfs..maybe you know what to do best i would appreciate it uwu
I would talk to a GP first, they can get you in contact with specialists, it is tricky to get a CFS diagnosis though because they have to rule out lots of other things! It can take a while but having a good idea of what it is, is a good start!! I'm sorry that you are concerned about your family's reaction, it can be very difficult!! But your psychiatrist should be professional about it and try to help, and certainly not judge or dismiss your concerns, if they do, they are not good at their job!!

Absolutely strange that casual representation seems to be rare across all sort of minority identifies tbh 🤔
Yeah, there is def a lack of regular inclusion!!

I have ME CFS ....my grandmother was a Brown from Kent...no relation?
Seems unlikely, i don't have any family from Kent and there are a lot of Browns !
Where have you been? Miss you love you.... How are you? God bless.
Your friend Joey
Having a flare up from loads of Uni work unfortunately, so I've been too tired to make videos
thats taekwondo not karate
They are all horrible examples.
NICE VIDEO, I also like making nice reaction videos for my channel.
