I honestly love this blindside, because in the kelly blindside, dave was in shock, but more like a "good play", but they still had numbers, on this one, he's in complete disbelief, and he knows that they'll be picked apart going forward.
Yea Eric loved it when Russell got revenge for him on his old tribe but in the end he was too butthurt to give his vote to the only real player from the final 3. Listen that's the game, russell had bad jury management BUT let's be honest Russell did what he had to do to make it to the end this season and that old Galu tribe was probably never gonna give him the votes he needed bc they were all bitter at how he outplayed each of them. Eric is the prime example bc he kept acting like he loved how russell got each one of them out but when it came time to decide who he thought should win he gave it to the least deserving person. Just my opinion.
i would actually love to see john return in a future season. unlike most, i appreciate and see the benefit in this move. Russell would have betrayed any of them that switched. so, if it weren't john, it would have been someone else. but John didn't want to leave his fate to rocks. a good player wouldn't. it bought him 3 more days than he potentially could have had. micro moves to advance yourself are just as important, even if it only gets you to the next episode. and i appreciate john trying to forge his own game, instead of willingly following his tribe blindly to the end. he would've been the first of his tribe gone when the time came anyways. i dont see it as a bad move, honestly.

yes, Natalie was the one dragging Russ around, not the other way around. And Russell is so overcredited as this strategic genius for getting Shambo to flip. Shambo HATED all of Galu apart from Brett. She would have flipped for sure without Russell once she smelt blood.
When people make moves, you have to credit the player for making them while blaming the party that's harmed for making it possible. Galu was terrible, letting Shambo know that she was at the bottom of every Galu alliance. You then have to recognize that all of Foa Foa played well socially with Shambo, as she prefered them to Galu. It was still Russell though who really exploited Galu's mistake by solidifying her loyalty, securing her vote when he needed. He found the second idol and showed it to her to gain her trust, and she aided him in using it properly to take out Kelly to weaken Laura. After Russell made a deal with John to vote Laura out (and put Foa Foa + Shambo in the majority), Shambo wanted Dave gone, but Russell got rid of John instead. He then did some great damage control to ensure that Shambo was still loyal to Foa Foa and voted out Dave next and finally put the Foa Foa Four in the majority. The edit was terrible, but accurate in portraying Russell the way the other players perceived him. They viewed him as extremely arrogant but playing the game the hardest to further himself and his alliance. Natalie made one key move in getting Galu to turn on Erik, but then after that she went along for the ride Russell had provided for her. She knew all she had to do was let Russell get his hands filthy taking out the Galus while pledging complete loyalty to him and he'd take her to the end, where she could beat him in front of the jury since she had made relationships. It was Russell who took Natalie to the end, not the other way around, but it doesn't mean she didn't deserve her title.

This would have been so much more epic had it gone to rocks. I do not understand the logic behind John's vote. Don't people understand that if you flip, you get voted out next or very soon after. Case in point here, with Will in Gen X, Brandon in Africa, Candice in HvV, the list goes on. The thing to do is stay with your crew until the numbers get down a bit more when you can make a solid foursome with two members of the other side and one from your side. Once you flip, you're expendible. Please future players, go to rocks in this situation or be more patient.
Two of your examples happened after this one :P Also, Jessica went to rocks and what happened to her? Going rocks is a huge risk. This _could_ have worked out for John. Also, Will wasn't voted out for flipping, Will was voted out for trying to keep flipping between sides, IMO.
