In fact you could argue that she is more special. All of their magic couldn't stop the magic from dying. It took Mirabele's gift of empathy to heal the family which allowed the magic to come back. At which point she was gifted the magic of creation. The second she plugged the door knob into the house, the house became an encanto.

Idk if I’m listening to the lyrics to much, but the way they describe Isabel vs Luisa actually kind of tells that Luisa is over looked like she was struggling with. Mirabel used so many different ways to describe Isabel with graceful, beautiful, perfect, etc… however she only said Luisa was strong which is kinda what Luisa thought, that she was only useful for her strength and nothing else. When she’s hurt after they left her out of the family picture, Casita began to crack and all and the candle was “weaker”. Bruno patches her wounds. Indirectly, he is trying to heal her by “healing” Casita since she is so unwell because of all the emotional and psychological wounds she has. But as we can see in the movie, sometimes you need to let it all out and have a new start/ a new perception of things. So basically Mirabel’s power is being closer to Casita than anyone else and well running everyone’s power lmao (Well that’s what I understood of the movie and on what I’ve seen in some comments and all cuz I didn’t realize her power was being like tied to the house at first even tho it is like showed in the movie anywayyyyy)

I think that once Abuela is dead, Mirabel would probably be the "head" of the house.
