I will never, ever forget being there at the futurity and watching this run. Truly amazing and almost unreal. I was 11 years old and it brought tears to my eyes, I've never seen such style and grace out of any other horse since. A true legend, and the closest thing to perfection I've ever seen.
This has to be easily one of the best reining patterns ever...and to think he was only a 3 year old at the time...is that score still the highest for the futurity? Now he is the top sire. A legend.
Now this is what a headset should look like in a reining pattern!!!! Meaning it just looks natural and balanced not forced and intimidated, with the nose dragging on the ground and behind the vertical. This run has to be the definition of the term "willfully guided". The legend looks like a 10 year old in this pattern, he is that relaxed and confident.
Wimpys Little Step Becomes NRHA's Youngest Million Dollar Sire Oklahoma City, Okla. - Wimpys Little Step has been making waves in the reining world since he first stepped into the show pen in 2002, winning the 2002 NRHA Open Futurity Championship and All American Quarter Horse Congress Reining Futurity.
I had a show horse with the "Wimpy" blood line and he was a stallion for the first 14 yrs of his life and produced some of the most beautiful, graceful, and comfortable horses I have EVER ridden still to this day and I'm now 33 yrs old!!! I'm trying to find another great "Wimpy" bloodline to show and unfortunately the bloodline is difficult to find and saddens me greatly:( My old show horses registered name is "Wimpys Bar Dec" and had passed away at 29 yrs old two years ago. I would love to know a way to possibly find some of his offspring and/or descendents of his bloodline. Can anyone tell me how to do this please???

Under the guidance of Shawn Flarida, Wimpys Little Step set a record with the highest score ever recorded at the NRHA Futurity, with a 233. Now, just six short years later, the 9-year-old stallion is the NRHA's newest Million Dollar Sire
