I used to be an RC snob.... Balsa, fiberglass and carbon fiber planes... No foamies ! Until I flew a couple of them.... They are affordable, replaceable and very fun to fly and crash. Keep up the good work ft and thanks for sticking up for the hobby.
Having resilient foam helps the newer people spend more time in the air and less time building/fixing. Great to see Flite Test moving into a foam that helps people fly more often.
I like to see these occasional simple build video’s like you started with. I like where the Channel and team have grown to, what the future holds for you and don’t want to forget your grass roots of where you grew from. Superb channel and team.
12:20 Thank you for speaking more about the FAA and the burdensome rules the FAA had put on us and on this hobby for almost a decade. We need more CBOs (Community Based Organizations), like FliteTest and the AMA, to help us claw back the unrestrained freedoms we once had to fly.
u guys are amazing got a mini guinea pig a few years back, never finished it, but used the ESCs, Servos, and receiver for a bunch of projects since. definitely a great path to entry into the hobby
Im getting back into the hobby lately. I love the tech that offers a-lot more building opportunities. It has helped me to appreciate the time saved and what it takes to build by hand, ruler and razor blade.
I want a version with the double wing angled. I like biplanes. Maybe even with a dual motor. Or the option to do dual motor on the wings, and one motor on the fuselage. I have so much stuff laying around from planes. I crashed, that I can build it with the stuff that I have. Just need the foam. I work with a youth group, that I think would like this kind of stuff to build together.
Great builds! Gotta hand it to the David again for his biplane design. That thing is awesome.Great work everybody! I love to see design challenges. I'd like to see some more videos akin to the old chair plane challenge or the bush plane spot landing challenge. Oh, you could even recreate the Patey/Red Bull Dubai landing.
Yet another great video. I did an article on the Tenet...I love that plane. It flies so well and is so durable. Every once in a while an airplane design proves to be really excellent, sort of beyond what you might expect. That is the Tenet. Thanks again.
Foam idea, Lite Test. Also thanks for letting us know about the opportunity to raise the weight limit on RC aircraft, I'll make sure to share this with my club members.
Awesome, those are some interesting planes. The name for your new material could be 'Flome" flying, Foam and Home. The home of flying foam! Build it at home!
Would you guys do a pine or balsa plane? Also would love to see you guys do a challenge. Like making a plane that can carry the most weight or smallest plane you can build and fly. I think it would be cool to see a plane the size of a micro drone
I love this content. More like what caused me to originally subscribe. Also, love that you are promoting, working to raise the weight limit. WRITE TO YOUR REP & SEN!
Hey there! So I'm 15 and I build 2 FT EZ plane in school and I loved it!! I really want to get into this hobby and I was wondering what the best kind of begginer plane would be. I'm looking for a plane that is basic but is fast and has good manuvarability, I would fly at parks and a farm. I would appreciate it so much if you could help me out! Thanks!!
Yes, please do some videos about DIY hot wire cutting. It would be great to make some partialy or mostly 3D printed project for that! Also, it would be great to have a chance to buy your material and stuff in Europe. ❤
i might need to take a closer look at the 3d printed version and redesign it for a pixhawk. that is 1 very nice looking design and building a wing with a 3d printer is not all that difficult. pixhawk needs a lot of space so building bigger is better
Does anybody know what the sweep angle is on the speed wings for the biplane? I assume it's a modified sport wing with with the sweep cut out of the center sections. It looks to be 12 to 15 degrees each side to me. Also what is the cord width of the sport wing? Any comments?
I miss the old-school yellow foam recycled meat tray planes. I want to see you go to the Grocery and buy some beef, chicken and pork, have a barbecue and use the foam trays and build some planes!
So are you saying you’re going to be cutting mini spec class racing wings from the new FT Foam? Kicking off a new craze for FPV wing racing? Pretty sure that’s what I heard
Hello, someone, the Flite Test Mighty Mini Fw 190 plane comes with a remote control or you have to pay separately for them to send me a professional one?
You guys need to get better about linking your products in the description. I see these videos, then I need to spend time hunting around on the website trying to find it. Then I need to spend more time hunting for the additional components. Please just link it ALL, and make it easy for us to purchase. Good luck.
3D printing a plane is usually a better option, but if you prototype something, gotta go cheaper. 🤷 Prototyping is usually expensive in my experience, so foamies are here to stay in my opinion, not to mention the usually lower price for the foam materials. Plus, cheaper prices means you also can go hog wild with any airplane design, be it a Sci-fi plane, SST or even say the oddball Flying Barrel plane (Stipa Caproni), you wouldn't be too disappointed if it takes a nosedive outta sky compared to 3D printed planes which gets spendy fast.
And of course yes, to bang together something for your kids to fly cheaply too, especially as busy, cash-strapped parents (entire electronics can be found for less than $50 but if you want quality, $300 is usually the lowest so that's all you need to worry about - everything else is like $10, and that's it, if you wreck the plane, just make another frame and you're back in the sky quickly).

Thanks for the kind words brother! Welcome to the family!
Having resilient foam helps the newer people spend more time in the air and less time building/fixing. Great to see Flite Test moving into a foam that helps people fly more often.
Glad to see you guys going back to your roots! I love seeing the competition videos and just seeing the fun y’all have!

EPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks FT, that is what i have been waiting on and requested when you came out with this plane.
Im getting back into the hobby lately. I love the tech that offers a-lot more building opportunities. It has helped me to appreciate the time saved and what it takes to build by hand, ruler and razor blade.
These are the FT vids I love. Great to see you getting back to designing and building for us all to follow.
their builds are ugly thought.
This type of video is why I've followed FT the last few years . RC we all can enjoy .

My favorite is the biplane! Love it! Oh and I'm still looking forward to ordering that new twin-boom Flerken with the floats when it comes avaialble.
That will be coming out at the end of March early April. :-)
Myself as well. I'd like to see landing gear for the Flerken.
Would love to see a video where you talk a bit about DIY hotwire cutting, especially now that you're going to be using this new foam more.
Love it. :)
If you wanted to go digging I think I remember a really old video they had with David showing how he Hotwire cut his viggen
Foam idea, Lite Test. Also thanks for letting us know about the opportunity to raise the weight limit on RC aircraft, I'll make sure to share this with my club members.
Thank you so much Josh, I Brian from Uganda East Africa and I love you guys sooooo much, I love your planes, they are fun to fly
Love the "V"tail biplane. For me,,,is the winer.
Awesome, those are some interesting planes. The name for your new material could be 'Flome" flying, Foam and Home. The home of flying foam! Build it at home!
Sent letters to all my congress people. Thanks FT for continuing to fight for us! And great video as usual 😊

Love the innovation!!! Yes, the bi-plane is boss 👍👍👍
I agree the biplane is grip
No worries about the Versacopter piloting, it's not the _worst_ attempt at chasing an unmanned plane I've seen today!
You work hard, then play hard. Great thing to see! Keep it up, guys!
Biplane is awesome!! Love to have it with a normal rudder/elevator tail.
AirHammer out!!
I love this content. More like what caused me to originally subscribe. Also, love that you are promoting, working to raise the weight limit. WRITE TO YOUR REP & SEN!
One of your best videos ever! I love the design competition vibe. 😊😊👍👍
YES YES YES YES! Two fuselages was necessary addition. Going to be buying this
I love this style of RC videos I’d love to see you guys make 3D or bush planes or even Jets out of foam 🎉🎉🎉
their too lazy i dont think they will
New foam sounds awesome for certain planes.
Suggestion for new foam name: AERO ULTRA FOAM👍! Good fun guys! Keep doing what you do‼😁👍
Make a biplane where one of the wings can separate and fly on its own as a flying wing.
Best idea
I really enjoy your films ,love you ,from Taiwan.

the biplane needs skids for snow, maybe some small'ish pontoons for water or short landing gear ( or maybe all three, interchangeable).
THIS IS WHERE ITS AT!!! Great video ❤❤

We are working on getting our materials world wide. This will be included. :)
Thanks for your support!
0:57 "we got a lot of tremendous feedback from people, and also teachers."
teachers are not people? 😂
would love to see this turned into a RC-3 Seabee amphibian. An unusual but fantastic airplane.
oh my god it works great
Can' find the link to 3d printed FT Tenet. Can you please help. Love from India
Hey man I love your content! Just wondering, what are the specs to the drone you used?
As always, love the vids!
Please make the second one ultralight looking available for sale. Looks amazing
That was a great episode as always, and I think you should name the new foam the FT super foam 😎👍👍
Absolutely fantastic!
would love to see some versa blanks out of that foam

Thanks guys it’s very entertaining to an old ex private pilot that studied to commercial love ya work my best wishes to u all
Pleasure to watch boy's!!!!!😁🤘
Wrote my own three letters to senators and lone representative. Same idea,s but less jargony. I added a bit about kids in STEM education.
I like the videos that make things fly that shouldn't
You guys are nutz! You have So much fun 😂

Another great FliteTest video!
Foam-E, Foamulous, FliteFoam, are just a few names my family and I came up with.
I miss the old-school yellow foam recycled meat tray planes. I want to see you go to the Grocery and buy some beef, chicken and pork, have a barbecue and use the foam trays and build some planes!
biplane planform looks great
You could call the new foam Styrofirm, or, since it is light & strong... Bird Bone !
Got to add a low wing version!
Gotta admin that pitts style bi plane he build there, is pretty sweet
Turn the Trim beeps down on the controller. or EQ them lower in post.
Foam you can spray paint!? I need to know more about this product.
If it's windy you just need a slope for ripping. 😉
É muitas montagens boas e divertidas,e podemos rápidas para não perder tempo ...QUERO TODOS...🤣🤣🤣🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
where can i get the plans?
Great stuff!!
Awesome!! Can this be scaled to fit a 100mm print bed? Love the Dovetails - just issued the same challenge to @ThinkFlight
Awesome!!!!!
where are the 3d print files on the store? Looked everywhere only see motor mounts
So are you saying you’re going to be cutting mini spec class racing wings from the new FT Foam? Kicking off a new craze for FPV wing racing? Pretty sure that’s what I heard
Good video, guys! :)
Sweet! 😊
keep up the great work guys
Good stuff you guys always good stuff😊
Hello, someone, the Flite Test Mighty Mini Fw 190 plane comes with a remote control or you have to pay separately for them to send me a professional one?
I just spotted a paramotor in your workshop! I fly pg and ppg, who's flying yours? I know Peter Stripol does at times.
Great video
Lite Flite Foam FTW!!
Great job.

Expanded
Poly
Impervious
Construction foam
FT EPIC Foam.
The biplane version almost looked like a Stagger-Wing Beach in the air.
Flight foam or F squared (F2) foam
What kind of foam is it? Who makes it?
Is there a full size flerken?
Is the tenet v1 gonna continue being sold? Also you should make a hotwire foam warbird kit for the store
The original will still be available but with the new foam.
@@FliteTest When I look at the store, the original is not there

The new foam should be called EPFF, Expanded Poly Flight Foam. Or EPIP, Expanded Poly Impact Protection 😊
Is the stl awailable ?
Name for your new foam, "fLiteFoam".
Have you ever built an airplane from off the shelf foam glider?
Nice is posible to find the stl
F-Lite Foam covers it all,,,
1144 check out the wire foam cutter by the you teenager in Africa. Has a RUclips channel. I will try finding his channel and post here.
Regular PLA or LWPLA?
flitetest is on the up again with these Wednesday episodes
FliteFoam!
You really have to make a xxl Torpedo ❤❤❤😂
Love yor vids
How about Tuff Foam?
