Ah yes, the rare Fox Monkey in its natural habitat. Known for her gentle movements and tingly noises, This young female has found a friend to groom. This practice is essential, as it not only relaxes and reassures her friend, but also provides a nice meal in the harmful negativity bugs she removes from their skin. She will continue to do this for quite some time, until all the bugs are gone, or until her friend falls asleep. Whichever comes first.

I’ve always wondered if the instinct primates have around communal grooming has some long distant connection to ASMR, and given the amount of tingles this gives I’m gonna say, yes.
It's 5 am and I'm wondering if monkeys get goosebumps now lmao
I swear to god ive read something on this very topic, not directly ASMR related but the reason people like grooming and personal attention etc is because of primate's bonding habits. Grooming is a huge bonding activity that primates engage in and humans still have that instinct to groom others. A big fraction of asmr is doing your hair, makeup, touching your face etc and i feel like it kind of caters to that primate instinct to essentially pick bugs out of people's hair to make friends😂
