- Onboard with Bobby King in Heat 2A rerun. King was run over by Dave Villwock after the U-12 after King rode up the roostertail on the U-40 in Turn 1.
Bobby was the "King" of cool after the accident, calmly shutting off systems and conversing with his Crew Chief and the rescue divers.
Both Bobby and Dave walked away without serious injuries.

There was no avoiding that collision, there was the tiniest of a glimpse the boat coming through the spray.
Trust me, thing happen in milliseconds and the whitewater is blinding.

You barely see the U-27 come into view. You have to really pay attention to see when the boats clip each other.
Watched it happen from turn 2 and you will never convince me that villwock didn't save Bobby Kings life. The slightest right turn kept him from driving right over the cab.
Great podcast safety concerns for the driver were great.
Bobby King: personal accountability "I got into the tail" the skid fin lost its grip in the turbulent wake and slid out, i'm not sure if he could have did anything to keep from getting into the tail. He was instantly hard on the wheel and it just didn't respond. Bobby looking forward to seeing you in the next race.

Was that Peabody again coming over into King's lane enough to splash and for him to swerve right?
I think he just got to close to Peabody's Roostertail and it sent him out.
On the live stream overhead shot, it looked like Corey came over on him. This shot doesn't really seem to support that other than that weird splash out the side of Corey's tail. That might be from a bounce that shot Corey over even though we can't see the boat. Once we get the onboard views from the 9 and the 40 we will have the full story.

@@dzexperience883 Under the rules, if a boat encroaches into another lane without enough overlap, they are supposed to be penalized. Regardless of any perceived "lane" left for another boat.

That'll never change, rules and etcetera were constantly changing when I was racing Limited's. That's one of the reason's I got out during the mid to later-eighties.
They had to change the course otherwise there would be no race, not enough water in the river.
.... maybe have to slow the speeds down?
