Kirby's Adventure - Final Bosses (King Dedede, Nightmare) and Credits

  • This is a video of the final boss fights and credits in Kirby's Adventure. It is a very memorable part of the game, and the introduction to Nightmare is awesome.
I wouldn't have recorded this if I didn't feel a compelling need. After being somewhat put off by the quality of some of the other videos of this awesome moment in video gaming, I have recorded my own.
The problems with other videos include the following:
    Annoying watermarks
    Annoying introduction videos
Voices (LPs are fine, but I wanted to see a quiet playthrough)
Recording with a video camcorder, instead of a screen capturing utility
    Poorly emulated audio.
Recording game audio with a microphone instead of direct capturing.
    Dying on the boss.
That said, mine isn't perfect, I haven't played in years, so I got hit a few times. I also got a bit dash-happy and it kind of looked weird when switching cutscenes. And on the first phase of Nightmare, I almost die, and I pick up the warp star so fast that the pick up sound doesn't get to play. Also it seems RUclips has reduced the framerate in spots, making some blinking and sprite cycling effects a little hard to see.
But despite these flaws, I think I did okay. I probably could have also had an ability for the first phase, but oh well.
Hopefully RUclips doesn't cake this with ads later due to content ID tracking or something.

okay but honestly the part where dedede tries to stop kirby and shakes his head is really interesting - that is real fear in that pixelated penguin's eyes, and you know you're about to find out very soon why he wanted to stop you so badly

What makes it more interesting is Kirby's irritated look at 2:28. Not sure if it was a graphic bug or not, but it makes the scene rather amusing.

Orfloper Oh, yeah… There is that loophole, maybe. According to www.gamefaqs.com/nes/563432-kirbys-adventure/faqs/10645, these are the mixes that give throw:
      Ball + Beam = Throw
      Beam + Beam = Throw
      Beam + Light = Throw
      Beam + Parasol = Throw
      Beam + Sleep = Throw
      Beam + Sword = Sleep/Throw
      Beam + Tornado = Throw
I remember there are a lot of enemies with Beam in Vegetable Valley. The remaining question is if they can be found close to those others.

I think you did fine overall, all things considered. Phase 1 of Nightmare is really tricky and Phase 2 is, as well, although it gets a lot easier when you know the pattern. 6 hits and boom, done. Dedede Battle was also awesome, glad to finally see a good run through of this, particularly with the music.

When I was a kid this game had the best twist ending. Dedede turning out not to be some irresponsible arrogant king bathing in the fountain of dreams but instead did his best to keep the darkness from overtaking his realm. But here comes Kirby under the impression that Dedede is just being an arrogant brat fighting through everything the king can throw at him, and Meta Knight knowing there's more to the story testing and training Kirby because he knows Kirby can defeat the king, resulting in Nightmarish repercussions.
They saw Kirby coming and realized that he COULD win against the Nightmare.
Dedede was terrified of that thing getting loose but once it was was all like "Okay, you let him out, YOU deal with him!"
Kirby just goes with it and kicks anti-celestial butt.

    Weird paradox involving Popstar's Moon:
After the finale, a huge chunk of the moon blows up, as a nonscientific explanation to why the moon looks like a crescent. However... during the Meta Knight battle, which happens EARLIER IN THE GAME, the moon is already a crescent! (And it's alive, meaning if Kirby blew it up, he probably killed it.) Now let's go even EARLIER. Remember Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright? You blew them up too, and Mr. Shine was THE MOON. Not only that, but before he was blown up, he was (once again) a crescent! Now we are going REALLY far back. In one of the stages of Kirby's Dreamland, the there's a secret room only accessible by holding up on the CRESCENT SHAPED moon, as if it were a door. Okay, now let's hop back in our time machine, but this time, we go to the future!
    SPOILERS AHEAD!
(Even though this game is pretty old anyway...)
In Kirby Superstar, you fight Marx on the moon just like Nightmare. But there is no blown up piece. If there were, you'd probably fall in. Then again, these are just what-if scenarios. Farther into the future, perhaps?
    SPOILERS!
(For Triple Deluxe this time. This game is much less old, so I can understand not wanting spoilers.)
During the final battle with Sectonia, the moon is full. It shouldn't be.
So yea. This was pretty long. I feel sorry for you if you are some poor sap who pressed "Read More" and got WAY more than they bargained for.

I had the honor of playing this awesome game in my NES console decades ago, towards the end of its run, the NES had some amazing games that fully exploited the console's potential.
The NES lasted over a full decade in the market before getting obsoleted by the end of the 90s, a record very few other gaming systems can match, and its influence remains strong to this day, with the amount of "indie" games that fully embrace its aesthetics and soundtrack style.
Do yourself a favor and play this game, even on an emulator, you'll have a lot of fun.

Here is what I thought this fight was: Kirby wasnt listening to dedede, but dedede got scared and shot kirby and the star rod at nightmare. But kirby is far to afraid to focus on fighting because he was just thrown into a fight against someone he is afraid of. But this is when kirby learns that he has the power to do crazy things like this. And that's why I always thought there was that space god final boss trend in these games.

Man it was a good looking game for a NES Title. I played the gameboy version as my first kirby game, then Nintendo Switch came out and i tried this classic. Tho the game tries to like load so many sprites happening at once the game slows down drastically when they're too many enemies on my screen. But nonethuless this game was an example of how pretty colors and backgrounds can be for a game

I never noiced the paralax scrolling at the forlast battle and ending backthem, but these day's i can clearly notice this effect, wich is amezing,it seems to be a reflective regret for Nintendo in that they had made the nes with limmited capabilities, as Nintendo had to expend the nes capabilies with external chips to keep attracting game developers.

No, the consoles this gen suck. They can't even do 1080p 60fps games that look like anything besides dusty shit. No console will ever have unlimited capabilities, thats like saying you can count to infinity.
