Planted Betta Tank: 9 month Update!
This is a step-by-step, how-to guide for creating your very own planted aquarium. I used a 8w Azoo Mini led, 1-2 bps of inline CO2, 200 watt hydor inline heater, ADA Amazonia substrate with a sand foreground and 200 gph canister filter. The stone used was dragon stone. Love that dragon stone looks with a few moss planted around it.
This is a lovely tank. What i like the best is this adorable Betta and his interactions with his environnement and tank mates. That, to me, shows a caring artist (you). It is not all to have the most beautiful set up. What is even more important is that the inhabitants feel good in it. Bravo!

The fish at the beginning looks like it's blind.
It's eyes are so strange.
Yeah he has diamond eye, a genetic condition common among dragon scale bettas. He’s not fully blind but somewhat impaired. No issues feeding or navigating the tank so I’m not worried about it.

Regis Aquatics since seeing your original video on this tank I have been obsessed with the look of this tank and wanting a Betta like yours!! I’m fairly new to the hobby. I read the comments in your original video where you mentioned diamond eyes and have since learned more about the Dragon Scale Bettas but I haven’t seen any like yours with the full diamond eyes. Can you point me in the right direction to where I could find one like yours? Love your channel and you’re very talented!

Valentin Beunardaeu Hey! This might be a little late but you can have an open roof tank with a betta, as long as you maintain good water quality’s, then it should be fine also cap the top off with some floaters, including duckweed water lettuce etc hope that helped
how many shrimps are in there? I have almost same size tank with a betta and was thinking about add some shrimps.
I started with 12 and now there’s 50+ babies swimming around
Doesn’t the betta attacks the shrimps? I was told that bettas are territorial.
That tank was absolute perfection at the three month mark. I wouldn't have added those bright green plants in the foreground. They ruined the beauty of dragon stone.

do you need a heater? i’m wondering because my room is very warm 24/7. just started my 5gal tank and used your videos :)
If your room temp keeps water temperature around 72-80 you don’t need a heater or if you have cold water fish. Plant only you don’t need a heater
