    Now after watching this I'm now 100% sure in everything that was speculated, and the questions that were laid out. however before I get into my official thoughts on the matter, I'd like to lay out a few points.
    - The whole #GazaNation owes shenseea an apology, for accusing her of an act she didn't commit. After watching this, it's clear to see that all reply/comments made by the her about the collaboration, were directed by Elvis & her manager
    - Elvis is an opportunist/business man. nothing about this was done in the name of friendship or fairness.
    - The song that was released on Vybz Kartel's official VEVO, was a shot fired at Elvis for the fuckery he had done , not just to Kartel but his entire camp.
    - The real culprit behind this mess as speculated, was non other than the producer himself; Elvis Redwood
    People don't get me wrong enuh, me have alot of respect for Elvis due to the fact that he was the one that produced some of my favorite songs by Kartel. But this right here is not right at all.
    Elvis contradicted himself when he said, the song was 50-50 between him and Kartel, then went on to say that the song is his (notice his tone, which inferred that the song was completely 100% his). The song was most likely done a while back before it was released, however Elvis clearly had problems mixing and mastering the song using Kartel's vocals + the lyrics; hence why he needed a female to redo them. However, he never mentioned to Kartel the decision he had made, taking it upon himself to take full control over the song and do whatever gets him paid. Now I understand to alot of people that seems right, and it partially is in a business manner; but what about writing credit? Even though he flipped the song, he never gave the lyrical credit to Vybz Kartel, making it seem as though Shenseea did most of the work and Vybz Kartel just endorsed her. Again with all of this said and done, TJ & Dunwell probably smelt the rat, and based on their moral judgement it didn't seem right to take advantage on an artist based on the fact that they're not in a position to physically do anything about it.
    (And me want unnu understand people, if Vybz Kartel did deh a road this type of fuckery wouldn't of happened.)
    Seeing that the song became a big hit, Elvis further moved on to sell the song to VP records. All of which was done without even speaking to the main artist about their opinion on the matter. In fact based on his tone alone, I'm inclined to believe if it was any other artists in Kartel's position, he wouldn't have been so "kind" to have cut them a percentage on the deal.
    This is a basic example of an opportunist, and a suh you know yuh friend dem. He was quick to sell out the artist for a quick dollar. The only true friend weh me believe Vybz Kartel have in the music industry are: Russian, TJ & Dunwell (might be more, but I can't remember at the moment).
    Elvis fuck up same way, him shouldn't ah move suh with di boss. Ah true Kartel nuh voice fi him in years.
    Anyways, this whole matter just solidify the boss name even more in the history books. It just goes to show how truly talented he is.

      I agree with you 100% but they don't owe her manager an apology. 2 of Kartel's KNOWN producers reached out to Romeich demanding him to hold off the song and he went full steam ahead without getting proper clearance from the Writer and Vocalist.

    • @jasonx3494
      @jasonx3494 7 лет назад +1

      That is true, however we have to look at the fact that he was just a stepping stone in this for Elvis. He knew nothing about what was really going on behind the scenes, in fact the same person that contacted him about the song to begin with
      is who claimed it to be 100% there's

    • @andrewmckenley5355
      @andrewmckenley5355 7 лет назад +4

      Based on the ONSTAGE interview, Romeich had a clear understanding that there was an issue with clearances on Kartel side but he couldnt allow the opportunity to pass him. Worse he already began spending and shooting the video. He deserves all the heat that he's getting now. Romeich is no amateur to this. IF it was a new comer then there would be more sympathy.
      But, he said: "Every hustler would Run Wid It"

      @jasonx3494 7 лет назад +3

      And Mk Yuh know ah true you ah talk my youth
      yuh me me did affi edit dah one yah
      Shenseea manager is as much to blame as Elvis is in this situation
      Cause him know what was the order, however to save his own ass he denied knowing Elvis prior to the collaboration and avoided the question of who's song it was

      Christopher Brown not officially. I read up in regards to the American music industry rules. All splits in regards to compensation should be on paper before the song is released.
      I'm a dancehall artist and have only seen that done once for me. If you ask they look at you like you're crazy. It's all a trick to be honest. All artist get shafted if they don't know what they are doing. Which most don't.
      But search online hun. Lots of free information on the Web.

      You're right cause Elvis said that Kartel wrote the entire song, so the loodi song is logically Kartel's song, he must know when another artist is put on his song

    • @SuhFarRecordsMusic876
      @SuhFarRecordsMusic876 7 лет назад +5

      If he (Elvis) is the master rights owner he dont need no permission to put someone else on the track as long as kartel get full publishing for his lyrics it doesn't matter who is on it.....he mentioned something about the do's and dont with kartel and from my understanding kartel doesn't wants to be associated with certain artiste hence why he picked an up coming female to put on the song. as a producer u av certain type of hearing and he might have the song listening and a bright idea struck him that the song can be great if a female sings the verses and it would be stronger if a female says the words from a female point of view with more attitude.

    did you even notify vybz kartel that you was gonna involve a female artist in track or much to rewrite his verses into a female perspective. (i bet you didn't do that, you just jump to give out the man lyrics for rewriting without notifying the man. THAT IS WHY YOU GUYS WILL ALWAYS BE IN TROUBLE. (mess with what is yours which is the riddim and leave the man lyrics alone (it wasn't yours. simple explanation.

How can you give a song that's not exclusively yours to another artiste...which you yourself stated in the beginning of the video and then say later on "a my song mi jus a be courteous" I'm confused. So him own Kartel lyrics?

  • @onspottv1003

    this where Elvis confusing the thing; at one point he stated the vocals belongs to vybz kartel the beat belongs to him, so the share is 50/50 then he stated he give kartel a share of his which he don't of to because everything belongs to him, can someone explain this for me? I think the only way to release kartel songs due to the barrage kartel has on their contract was to switch up a little of the song, I turn it in to a calibration and breach the contract, I believe the official audio couldn't have been released without vybz kartel authorization, I know the stated that the producers ownes the song to do whatever they want with it but I think Elvis and kartel has an different agreement, and Elvis called on Keshon and he never said Keshon tried it but he didn't like it, he stated Keshon said no she wouldn't do it, basically they knew it was going up against vybz kartel agreement. he stated he try with 2 other females and he didn't like what he hear, why he didn't mention those 2females name? "lies" based on what Romeish stated he knew it was illegal too, they knew they would start a war with vybz kartel but he didn't care, he stated his artist want a break and he's getting an opportunity with vybz kartel if he shouldn't take it no matter what, he stated anyone get that opportunity would take it so that's what he did. you'll feeding off vybz kartel in prison from my views, you'll probably praying, platting and hoping he never comes out anytime soon, because you'll know you going to of to pay back everything you stole from him... honesty is the key to this business and you'll dis honest but I understand everyone of to eat but there is a price to steal from a curtain ppl like vybz kartel himself.

    • @rhohaniabaker5180
      @rhohaniabaker5180 7 лет назад

      Onspot Entertainment .. The share is 50/50 for publishing, that's all Kartel needs to get out of it because it's his lyrics and vocals so he needs to get 50% from the publishing.. But the producer went on to license the song to VP which is what he is saying he didn't have to give Kartel anything out of that because as a producer he can license songs and tht money is all his so he is saying he gave Kartel something out of the licensing money which he didn't have to.

    This is a question of intellectual property- everyone that created a part of the song, when registered, by law is entitled to compensation re contracts signed; regardless of who earns by promoting the song through their channels, the respective artistes are still entitled to compensation. Who cares if Ramesh paid to do the video? He invested in his artiste, and the success of the song would have determined if he would get back his money.

    This yute acting like anybody really care outside Jamaica industry insiders who the song is produced by. Its only that Kartel is associated with this song that anybody even cares to discuss it. So if by Elvis own admission, says Kartel own his own Masters and his own vocals....what authority does Elvis, who ONLY has ownership of his music (not vocals), to associate a new artist with Kartels brand, without Kartel or someone authorize to do business for him's permission. Sounds like this Elvis guy over step his boundary clearly. He may have the authority to put out the Kartel song or license it, but I dont think he should have put any artist on the song without first clearing it with teacha out of respect. Because now you using his image and brand to create a platform for another artist that he has nothing to do with. She is not supposed to get ANY publishing, its a big enough privilege her just being on a song and benefiting from the look. It was not her creative idea, she basically did an interpolation of
    his lyrics. Thats like sampling basically. Just shows the Jamaica music industry is light years behind US.

    truth is just truth. how can you be familiar with Kartel and not know that the man is sensitive about younger artists using his status and fame as a stepping stone to get into the game without really paying any dues...and then he doesn't benefit from that artists elevation... especially even more since the Popcaan situation. Teacha is like the equivalent of a Jay Z or Eminem to reggae. those type of artists rarely do collabs with a brand spanking new artist if the artist is not signed to their company or unless the artist pay a WHOLE lot of money for the feature. and even if you should secure the feature, thats just the vocals you paying for. Its a whole different negotiation now to use a man likeness in a video. So the fact obviously Kartel send word to fall back on the video and Elvis go tell Romeich to gwon put it out... Elvis may own the music but he don't own Kartel image so how can he give the green light to someone to use it. This is a business and stuff like this is why Jamaica music biz is light years behind the rest of the world... smh

    Thank you Elvis u cleared up this issue so well....and people are still asking for answers to the questions u already answered. People its not rocket science if Shenseea was given a % of the publishing rites that means to me that Kartel was okay with her take on his lyrics. This to me now is just unnecessary as the original is no longer on his vevo I just think gaza fans are upset because the girl is not apart of their empire. The tune hot and even those who callin people thief still ago listen it in 2020......
